Watched this on the recommendation of another anon last night. Serious red-pill material.
First I was astounded that Hollywood would make such a flick, but as soon as hitting "play" the Amazon Studios logo fills the screen – so it's not Hollywood per se, but no less astounding that Amazon would distribute it. I figure there must be some rogue elements at the burgeoning studio.
Also in the credits one notices an odd, indie sort of genesis: financed by lottery of the British Film Institute? The film seems to fly just under the radar.
I do question to timing and some of the affects – American flag lapel pin on the bad guys, same type of flag hanging in the diner at the end. Copyright 2018, but the Manhattan skyline is definitely not from 2018 nor probably from 2017 – the shape of the Central Park South skyline has changed dramatically over the past few years. The one shown in the film is from at least a year or two ago (this without any digging to nail it down).
So is the reason the film got made because it takes the obligatory swipe and republicans, flag-wavers, and white men? Maybe. Hope not. But all the bad guys are white and wear navy blazers. So cliche.
