I have said for a while that this shutdown has been wanted and planned.There are many avenues which now open up.
Notice how DJT has ostensibly kept himself out of all the politicking and has been nothing but accommodating; willing to sign any bill which was put in front of him - as long as it included his two requests; the wall and merit based immigration - he also made several strong statements that he was very sympathetic towards DACA.
He even did it in a televised meeting where he openly wanted and encouraged both sides to work together. DJT the great leader who is willing to work with both parties in an open and honest manner.
And with that Schumer was ensnared.
This is why Schumer was ridiculously over-playing his hand tonight by trying to implicate DJT personally and the GOP generally. I also think that at his earlier meeting at the WH he was given some unwelcome news.
Remember that these people are fighting for their lives and are desperate.
The memo will be released. I did think it would be tonight but when it does things will fall like dominoes.
While they may believe they have scored a victory, I think that it will soon become apparent after their crowing, just how devastating the implications may be.
Going back to why Schumer was trapped, Trump knew that their need to block everything possible and untrustworthiness could be their undoing. He simply presented them with that opportunity along with the chance of DACA getting passed too which ensured their illegal voters being legitimised.
All the while they only saw a win-win situation because the irrational Trump didn't realise the blunder he had made and they smelled the trace of blood in the water. They may never learn that he is playing with them. This man has dealt daily with massive sharks on a worldwide basis, where these bit-players only cheat each other within their fetid swamp.
Why was DACA such great bait? They only saw guaranteed votes and future domination. I think that DACA was a brilliant ploy to give the Dems a cause to fight for, even though there is no urgency to it. They then took the bait, all the hooks, line and sinkers until they could not be seen to back down.
It was introduced by a policy memo and is a deferred action. These are important but frequently overlooked points. DACA legality and constitutionality was tied in the SCOTUS 4 -4. Now with Gorsuch being there, it is unlikely to pass.
It really wasn't worth going to war over and I think it is a mistake that they will long regret.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is the formal governing body for the United States Democratic Party. The committee coordinates strategy to support Democratic Party candidates throughout the country for local, state, and national office.
