It is unconstitutional to allow someone who has shown that they are not willing to follow the law, cast a vote for the Law makers, and people who enforce the law.
It is only natural for someone to vote for another person who follows their moral compass, therein lies the problem with felons casting a vote.
It allows people who are of poor moral character to water down the rule of law, and disenfranchise those who have made the choice to obey the law, by allowing felons to elect another person of low moral character.
Those chosen for public service should be of high moral character, those who will not easily be swayed by the temptations of the flesh.
Should felons who have preformed victimless crimes be allowed to vote?
I honestly think that they should be allowed to appeal the conviction,be reviewed on a case by case bases, to allow the possibility for those who have benefited from our reform system, to reintegrate, and become productive members of our society.
This is already allowed by our judicial system, and should a person truly be reformed, they will have no problem taking these steps.
