I've personally been studying the INCREDIBLE parallels between the exodus past and exodus future. They coincide remarkably. If you look at Exodus 12 in the Bible - it is not about the Egyptians being freed, it is about God's people being freed after 430 years of captivity....
The chapter describes the passover and how the Israelites were to kill a lamb and put blood on their doorposts... if they followed the Lord's command then their house would be passed over when the Lord came through to strike down the firstborn.
