The Rockefeller Brothers Fund has given more than $3.4 million to Hamas-friendly groups since 2018

The Rockefeller Brothers Fund touts its commitment to advancing "social change that contributes to a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world." It also bankrolls an Israeli-designated Palestinian terror group and has given millions more to groups that fund Hamas or have justified the terrorist group’s attacks against Israel.

Established by the heirs of John D. Rockefeller Jr., the Rockefeller Brothers Fund has since 2018 funneled more than $3.4 million to Hamas-friendly groups including Defense for Children International-Palestine, which serves as a critical cog in the terror group’s propaganda machinery.

In fact, the Israeli government declared Defense for Children International-Palestine a terror organization in October 2021, arguing that it effectively operates as an extension of the terror group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and employs senior PFLP members.

Defense for Children International-Palestine has received $165,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund since 2018 and propagates shoddy research that is weaponized by Israel’s detractors to delegitimize the Jewish state. Since Israel began retaliatory strikes against Hamas, it has amplified the false claim that an Israeli airstrike killed 500 Palestinians at the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza on Tuesday. Democratic lawmakers have relied on the group’s flawed statistics to push anti-Israel legislation in the House. In May, nearly 30 Democrats led by Rep. Betty McCollum (Minn.) introduced a bill accusing Israel of wrongfully detaining Palestinian children, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Defense for Children International-Palestine’s ties to terror were public knowledge long before Israel designated the group a terrorist organization in 2021. The Jerusalem Post reported in 2018 that many of the group's top officials and board members were linked to the PFLP, a U.S.-designated terrorist group. At the time, Stephen Heintz, the fund’s president, defended the group’s support for Defense of Children International-Palestine, telling the Jerusalem Post in a letter to the editor that he was "convinced" that none of the group’s resources funded terrorist activity.

According to an Axios report, Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed over the weekend that the IDF has located files on a Hamas USB drive that contain instructions on how to build chemical weapons.

Herzog confirmed the findings in an interview with Sky News.

“This is how shocking the situation is where we’re looking at the instructions that are given on how to operate and how to create a kind of non-professional chemical weapon with cyanide,” Herzog said.

Axios reported on Saturday that the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s weapons of mass destruction non-proliferation department sent a classified cable to Israeli embassies in dozens of capitals worldwide, including Washington, late last week under the headline: “Hamas intention of using chemical weapons.”

• The authenticity of the Hamas file could not be independently verified by Axios, but Israeli officials have previously said they wouldn’t share information with allies if they didn’t think it was authentic and reliable.

The historical record shows that Thatcher would have arrived in Tel Aviv swinging her handbag. Of course, she would have extended her deepest sympathy to Israel for the attack on 7 October. But she would also – as a strong supporter of Israel – have given Netanyahu a stern lecture on morality, international law – and global statesmanship.

If hostilities break out with the United States, Tehran may try to minimize risk to its most important assets in the Middle East by drawing on black ops units further abroad instead.

After Iran shot down an American drone in the Gulf last month, U.S. forces were reportedly ten minutes away from firing missiles at Iranian targets when the President suddenly called off the attack. The missile strikes would have killed too many Iranians, he later said, adding he was in no hurry to attack Iran but that “our military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go.” U.S. officials insist that a “full range of options" remain on the table to deal with Iran’s malign activities, including military options.

But those military options could have significant implications for the security of Washington’s allies in the region, including Israel, especially as they relate to the activities of Iran’s increasingly capable proxies. As tensions spike between Iran and the West—especially over oil sanctions and freedom of navigation in the Gulf—Iran has been able to draw upon its network of militant proxies to carry out attacks on Iran’s behalf. In the words of former IRGC commander Gen Mohammad Ali Jafari, “The upside of the recent (conflicts) has been the mobilization of a force of nearly 200,000 armed youths in different countries in the region.”

Overseen by the IRGC’s Qods Force, this informal “Shia Liberation Army” includes Iraqi Shia militias, Yemeni Houthi rebels, and of course Lebanese Hezbollah. Houthi rebels have targeted Saudi airports, border towns, oil facilities, and even targeted a Saudi warship using an Iranian-designed remote-controlled boat filled with explosives. Meanwhile, Iraqi militias have fought in Syria, reshaped the Iraqi political and security landscape in Iran’s favor, fired rockets at U.S. diplomatic and military facilities in Iraq, and carried out a drone attack targeting Saudi oil facilities. Iran loaded rockets into launchers on Iranian commercial boats in the Gulf in May, just weeks after U.S. intelligence determined Tehran told its proxies to prepare to take a more confrontational approach to the U.S.

Israel is very much within these proxies’ crosshairs as well. “If the U.S. attacks us, only half an hour will remain of Israel’s lifespan,” threatened Mojtaba Zolnour, chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

Hyperbole aside, Iran has reportedly begun providing Iraqi Shia militia groups with precision missiles capable of hitting targets anywhere in Israel, perhaps to compensate for the attack platforms Iran lost in Syria as a result of Israeli airstrikes. Recently, press reports claim Israeli jets targeted Iranian missile shipments in Iraq that were meant to be transferred on to Hezbollah.

Federal officials have sounded the alarm on the potential infiltration of members belonging to Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), and Hezbollah through the southern border, as highlighted in an internal memo dated Oct. 20, exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, which escalated with terror attacks on civilians on October 7, has the federal authorities on high alert.

The San Diego Field Office Intelligence Division of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sent the memo warning about potential encounters with members linked to terrorist organizations in the US Southern border.

“San Diego Field Office Intelligence Unit assesses that individuals inspired by, or reacting to the current Israel-Hamas conflict may attempt travel to or from the area of hostilities in the Middle East via circuitous transit across the Southwest border,” the memo reads.

“Foreign fighters motivated by ideology or mercenary soldiers of fortune may attempt to obfuscate travel to or from the US to or from countries in the Middle East through Mexico,” the memo adds.

This new development comes after Rep. Jamaal Bowman and other leftists are already calling on the United States to take in Palestinian refugees from Gaza.

FBI Director Chris Wray issued a dire warning about the rise of violent extremism.

“Before I get into some of the specific ways we’re doing that work together, I want to take a moment to offer my heartfelt condolences to the people of Israel, and share the outrage that I know we all feel at the sheer brutality and disregard for innocent lives there,” said Wray.

“History has been witness to antisemitic and other forms of violent extremism for far too long. Whether that be from foreign terrorist organizations, or those inspired by them, or domestic violent extremists motivated by their own racial animus, the targeting of a community because of their faith is totally unacceptable,” he added.

Wray indicated that there has been a significant uptick in reported threats following the attacks, cautioning the public to remain vigilant for “lone actors.”

House Republican Vice Chair Mike Johnson, R-La., announced his candidacy for House speaker in a letter on Saturday addressed to his colleagues.

“I have been humbled to have so many Members from across our Conference reach out to encourage me to seek the nomination for Speaker,” Johnson wrote in a letter obtained by The Hill. “Until yesterday, I had never contacted one person about this, and I have never before aspired to the office. However, after much prayer and deliberation, I am stepping forward now.”

Others who have declared their candidacies include House Majority Whip Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., Republican Study Committee Chairman Rep. Kevin Hern, R-Okla., and Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Tx.

The House has been without a speaker for more than two weeks since the ousting of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., by eight Republicans.

In Johnson's letter, addressed to his colleagues, he expressed the importance of tackling the national debt and being strong on foreign policy.

“As Israel is viciously attacked, Russia, China and our other adversaries are becoming more emboldened," Johnson wrote. "Our national debt has surpassed $33.5 trillion, our southern border is overrun, violent crime is rampant, and the rising cost of living is crushing our constituents."

“The complex role of Speaker at this time requires a team player and a bridge-builder with endless energy and a unique mix of skills and experiences,” he added. “My extensive background in law, policy, strategic analysis, messaging, managing, networking, and building coalitions happens to have served as an uncommon preparation for the extraordinary demands of this day.”

Former President Donald Trump would emerge as the victor of a three-way presidential race including President Joe Biden and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a recent survey has revealed.

Trump claimed 39% support in a recent Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, originally published by The Hill. Biden trailed with 33% to Kennedy's 19%. A further 9% were undecided. Of those, 42% would back Trump if they had to make a decision, 36% would choose Biden, and 22% would opt for Kennedy.

Kennedy originally announced his campaign as a Democratic challenger to President Joe Biden, but in October dropped that bid in favor of an independent run amid frustrations with the party. The Democratic National Committee chose not to hold primary debates despite the presence of two challengers to Biden: Kennedy and Hollywood author Marianne Williamson.

Removing Kennedy from the contest, Trump remains the clear leader in the White House race, taking 5% lead over Biden, 46% to 41%. On average, Trump leads by 0.6%, according to RealClearPolitics.

"Trump’s polling continues to defy gravity both in the primary and the general election. Kennedy right now doesn’t change the result — an election held today would elect Donald Trump," poll co-director Mark Penn said.

In the Republican primary, Trump remains the front runner, earning 60% support to nearest rival Ron DeSantis's 11%. Conducted Oct. 18-19, the survey questioned 2,116 registered voters.

Kennedy's candidacy has attracted considerable attention as a potential spoiler for either candidate, though his bid is not the only campaign outside of the two traditional parties. Left-wing intellectual Cornel West has also declared his candidacy.

Upday, an app owned by the German media giant Axel Springer, is instructing journalists to cover the war in Gaza with a pro-Israel bent.

AS ISRAELI BOMBING raids virtually eliminated internet access in the Gaza Strip over the weekend, one of the largest media companies in Europe was pushing its own initiative to limit online news about civilian casualties in Palestine.

Upday, the largest news aggregator app in Europe, handed down directives to color the company’s coverage of the war in Gaza with pro-Israel sentiment, according to interviews with employees and internal documents obtained by The Intercept.

Leadership at Upday, a subsidiary of the Germany-based publishing giant Axel Springer, gave instructions to prioritize the Israeli perspective and minimize Palestinian civilian deaths in coverage, according to the employees.

“We can’t push anything involving Palestinian death tolls or casualties without information about Israel coming higher up in the story.”

Flight 2059 from Everett, Washington, was bound for San Francisco when it was diverted to Portland, where Joseph David Emerson was booked on 83 counts of attempted murder.

An off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot has been charged with over 80 counts of attempted murder after he allegedly attempted to shut off a plane's engines midflight on Sunday, causing the flight to divert to Portland.

Flight 2059 took off from Everett, Washington, and was bound for San Francisco, Alaska Airlines said in a statement. It was operated by Alaska Airlines subsidiary Horizon Air, but was diverted due to a “credible security” threat linked to a person in the cockpit’s flight deck jump seat.

"The jump seat occupant unsuccessfully attempted to disrupt the operation of the engines," the airline said. "The Horizon Captain and First Officer quickly responded, engine power was not lost and the crew secured the aircraft without incident."

The flight crew followed “appropriate FAA procedures and guidance from air traffic control” in landing at Portland International Airport. The flight took off just before 5:30 p.m. local time and landed about an hour later in Portland, according to FlightAware data.

Audio of the plane's communications with air traffic control reveal an attempt to turn off the plane's engines.

“As a heads up. We’ve got the guy that tried to shut the engines down out of the cockpit. It doesn’t sound like he’s got any issue in the back right now. I think he’s subdued," the pilot of the plane told air traffic control. "Other than that we want law enforcement as soon as we get on the ground and parked.”

Typically, off-duty airline pilots sit in the jump seat of the flight deck behind the pilots to fly back to their home base if seats are available.

After landing, Joseph David Emerson, 44, was arrested by Port of Portland police.

He was booked on 83 counts of attempted murder, 83 counts of reckless endangerment, and a count of endangering an aircraft, according to Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office booking records.

The FBI said it is investigating the incident and noted no injuries were reported. The agency said it “can assure the traveling public there is no continuing threat related to this incident.” Meanwhile, the FAA said it is "engaged with Alaska and Horizon airlines" and "is supporting law enforcement investigations."

The FAA sent alerts to airlines after the Horizon Air incident saying “a validated jump seat passenger attempted to disable aircraft engines while at cruise altitude by deploying the engine fire suppressions system.”

The crew was ultimately able to “subdue the subject,” remove them from the flight deck, divert the plane and land safely, the alert said.

In a second notification, the FAA clarified that the security event is not connected to current world events.

All passengers were able to travel on a later flight.

“We are grateful for the professional handling of the situation by the Horizon flight crew and appreciate our guests’ calm and patience throughout this event,” Alaska Airlines said.

The US spy agency has reportedly been heavily involved in modernizing Kiev’s intelligence services and using them against Russia

The CIA has spent “tens of millions” of dollars on transforming Kiev’s Soviet-style spy services into “potent allies against Moscow,” The Washington Post reported on Monday, citing multiple sources in the US and Ukrainian intelligence communities.

The US foreign intelligence service has been heavily involved in Ukrainian affairs since at least 2015, according to the report. The agency maintains a “significant presence” in Kiev amid the conflict with Russia.

“The agency has provided Ukraine with advanced surveillance systems, trained recruits at sites in Ukraine as well as the United States, built new headquarters for departments in Ukraine’s military intelligence agency,” the report reads. The CIA has been aiding Ukraine’s SBU domestic intelligence service, as well as its military counterpart, the GUR.

The collaboration with the SBU was originally focused on creating units “capable of operating behind front lines and working as covert groups” to spy on and take “active measures” against Donbass militias, which rebelled against Kiev in the aftermath of the 2014 Maidan coup.

The missions by the CIA-reorganized Ukrainian intelligence, however, later turned lethal, with Ukrainian operatives assassinating “at least half a dozen Russian operatives, high-ranking separatist commanders or collaborators,” according to the report. The activity was “often attributed to internal score-settling but in reality was the work of the SBU,” unnamed Ukrainian officials told WaPo.

The targets included Yevgeny Zhilin, the founder of a Ukrainian anti-Maidan movement and leader of the Kharkov separatist group Oplot, who was killed in Moscow in 2016, as well as Mikhail Tolstykh, a prominent Donbass militia commander, best known by his nom de guerre Givi, who was killed in an explosion in early 2017. The assassinations have continued during the current conflict, with the SBU involved in the murder of journalist Daria Dugina, the daughter of Russian nationalist philosopher Aleksandr Dugin, the paper said.

“Over the past 20 months, the SBU and its military counterpart, the GUR, have carried out dozens of assassinations against Russian officials in occupied territories, alleged Ukrainian collaborators, military officers behind the front lines and prominent war supporters deep inside Russia,” the article states.

The WaPo’s sources, however, insisted that US spies were not directly involved in Ukrainian clandestine operations. “We had a lot of restrictions about working with the Ukrainians operationally,” a former US intelligence official said, claiming it was more about “secure communications and tradecraft” and seeking new ways to get intelligence from Russia “rather than ‘here’s how you blow up a mayor.’”

“I never got the sense that we were that involved in designing their ops,” the ex-spy insisted. Still, the officials who spoke to the Post admitted the boundaries were “occasionally blurred” when working with the Ukrainians.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has revealed that she has separated from her longtime partner, the television personality Andrea Giambruno, after footage emerged of him appearing to proposition a female co-host to a “threesome or foursome.”

Giambruno said via his agent on Friday that he and broadcaster Mediaset had agreed to suspend the show amid the scandal. Previously owned by the late former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, Mediaset said it was “investigating the facts” surrounding Giambruno’s alleged misbehavior.

The company was previously accused of broadcasting sexist content, and it regularly publishes behind-the-scenes depictions of the hosts of ‘Striscia la Notizia’.

Meloni added in her social media post that her and Giambruno’s “paths have diverged for some time” ahead of their breakup. “I will defend what we were, I will defend our friendship, and I will defend, at all costs, a seven-year-old girl who loves her mother and loves her father,as I was unable to love mine.”(What a bizarre statement)

Meloni is leader of the Brothers of Italy party and has served as prime minister since October 2022. Former Hamas head in the West Bank, Muhammad Qassem Sawalha fled to the UK to evade Israeli security forces in the 1990s, while still having an active role in the organization as recently as 2019.

According to The Times, Sawalha "ran the group’s terrorist operations in the West Bank." After fleeing Israel, he gained British citizenship in the early 2000s even though the Home Office guidance denies citizenship to anyone who "incites, justifies, or glorifies" terrorism or "seeks to provoke others to terrorist acts."

In 2004, the US Department of Justice said in an indictment that Sawalha had continued to work for Hamas and financially assisted the group in the West Bank and Gaza to conduct terror attacks on Israel. The department indicted him as a co-conspirator in a racketeering scheme to "illegally finance terrorist activities" in Israel.

The outlet notes that Sawalha was pictured with the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh in 2010 and 2012, he served on Hamas's politburo from 2013 to 2017, and he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin's deputy foreign minister in 2019 as part of an official Hamas delegation.

He was even able to purchase a home with a £112,300 discount in 2021 using a "Right to Buy" scheme. Barry Rawlings, the head of the Barnet council, where Sawalha resides, told the outlet that he was "horrified to think [Sawalha] could be living in our midst."

"We will liaise with other stakeholders including the police and the government in reviewing the full history of this case and will take all appropriate action," he noted. High school students’ test scores on the ACT college admissions test have reached their lowest levels in over 30 years, a trend many are attributing to the COVID-19 pandemic response by educational institutions.

According to a recent report by NPR, ACT scores across the nation havebeen decreasing for six consecutive years, with this trend significantly accelerating after the COVID-19 pandemic. This comes as no surprise, given the fact that the shift to online learning over in-person classroom attendance placed barriers to learning for students across the country.

Earlier this year, data from Best Colleges revealed that standardized testing scores had dropped to their lowest levels in years,with just 22% of students meeting the benchmarks in math, reading, science, and English. Now, the average ACT composite score for students across the country has dropped to a 30-year low of 19.5 out of 36.

Janet Godwin, the CEO of ACT, explained that ACT test results have not reached their pre-pandemic level, a trend she believes will never recover. Godwin explained, however, that the ACT is still a valuable measure of a student’s college readiness.

“In terms of college readiness, even in a test-optional environment, these kinds of objective test scores about academic readiness are incredibly important,” Godwin said.

But many universities across the country aren’t so sure. Over the last few years, a number of colleges have abandoned the requirement of standardized testing for admission altogether. Critics have long argued that standardized testing favors wealthy students over low-income ones, contributing to educational inequity. Likewise, opponents have standardized testing claim that the test results do not tell the full story of a student’s educational ability or positive attributes. China Detains Chinese Employee Involved in Rare Metals at Japan Trading Company

Authorities in China have detained a Chinese national who deals with rare metals at a Japanese nonferrous metals firm, according to Japanese and Chinese sources.

The employee was detained in March, the sources said.

Why the person has been detained is unknown, but there are also reports that another Chinese employee who deals with rare metals at a Chinese company that has business with this Japanese firm was detained at around the same time.

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s administration has tightened regulations on rare metals as they are strategic commodities.

In August, China introduced export controls on mineral resources associated with rare metals used in advanced semiconductors, such as gallium and germanium. They cannot be sold overseas without Beijing’s permission.

In July, an anti-espionage law revised to expand its scope was enacted. The detentions uncovered this time possibly are related to suspected leaking of information. This month, Chinese authorities formally arrested a male Japanese employee working in China for Astellas Pharma Inc. on suspicion of violating the anti-espionage law.

A representative of a Japanese trading company that procures rare metals from a Chinese state-owned company told The Yomiuri Shimbun: “Regulations on trade of rare metals are becoming stricter, and this is probably part of the Chinese authorities’ control. Care must be taken.”

A California nanny has been charged with molesting a baby girl she was hired to care for and sending images of the abuse to a man she met online.

Michelle Nicole Hidalgo, 28, was first arrested by the Contra Costa County Police last month after they received a tip from an unnamed social media platform saying that she had allegedly shared child pornography on the platform.

After going through her social media history, police found conversations with a man demanding “worse and worse” images of the infant, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Contra Costa County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force seized “equipment used in the production and distribution” of the child pornography in her home.

Hidalgo still worked for the victim’s family at the time of her arrest.

Additional charges have since been added related to the molestation of the infant.

“On top of the four felony counts of child pornography she previously faced, Hidalgo has now been charged with a further three counts of child molestation of a victim under 10, and of using a minor for sex acts,” the Daily Mail reports.

When confronted about the images by a detective, Hidalgo confessed but claimed it was a “stupid” one-time “mistake.”

Despite the confession, Hidalgo pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.

District Attorney Diana Becton has not ruled out the possibility of Hidalgo having other victims.

Hidalgo is currently being held on a $2.7 million bond and faces up to 60 years to life in prison if convicted.

Federal authorities saw an 89% increase in seizures of fentanyl at the southern border from 2022 to 2023 , according to recently updated federal data.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized 26,700 pounds of fentanyl in fiscal year 2023, which is up from 14,100 pounds of the lethal synthetic narcotic in fiscal year 2022, according to the data. Overdose deaths in the U.S. have been increasing, largely due to fentanyl.

Fentanyl, which is largely responsible for the 105,263 drug deaths that occurred between February 2022 and January, is the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 49, according to the DOJ. In 2021, nearly 108,000 Americans died of overdoses, which was a 15% increase from 2020 after an already 30% increase the year before, according to the provisional data published by the CDC.

Illicit fentanyl is made with chemicals shipped from China to Mexico, where cartels synthesize it in clandestine drug labs to then smuggle over the border into the U.S., according to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). It is 100 times stronger than morphine.

“Fentanyl is the deadliest drug threat our nation has ever faced. These eight cases are the result of DEA’s efforts to attack the fentanyl supply chain where it starts — in China,” DEA Administrator Anne Milgram said in a recent statement regarding the indictments of several Chinese companies and individuals involved in the manufacturing of the illicit drug.

“Chinese chemical companies are fueling the fentanyl crisis in the United States by sending fentanyl precursors, fentanyl analogues, xylazine, and nitazenes into our country and into Mexico. These chemicals are used to make fentanyl and make it especially deadly,” Milgram said.

In its determination to secure a nuclear deal with Iran, the Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it was funneling cocaine into the United States, according to a POLITICO investigation.

They tracked the river of dirty cash as it was laundered by, among other tactics, buying American used cars and shipping them to Africa. And with the help of some key cooperating witnesses, the agents traced the conspiracy, they believed, to the innermost circle of Hezbollah and its state sponsors in Iran.

Many are asking if Hamas is in the Bible. Is this an omen or sign? Some even suggest futuristic consequences or prophetic signs and wonders related to Hamas and the modern Israel nation. Well, yes, Hamas is in the Bible, but perhaps not in the way you may expect. Also, let’s hope history repeats itself and Hamas is ended.

“Hamas,” the Arabic terrorist group acronym moniker of Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya (Islamic Resistance Movement), is also a chilling homophone in the Bible: violence.

Genesis 6:11 says, “Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled withviolence [Hamas: lit. חָמָס (ḥāmās)].”

The Hebrewword ḥāmās is a noun meaning an act of aggression, but especially involving physical contact. Hamas was founded in 1987; however, the biblical word “ḥāmās” or “violence” reaches back to the earliest chapters ofGenesisand is one of the significant reasons for the flood.

And Hamas terrorism is certainly delivering on their name. Let us pray God sends the same judgment as he did in Genesis 6 to rid the world of this evil. No quarter should be given to an extremist movement celebrating child execution, preteen wives, destruction of antiquities, crimes against humanity, genocide, terror-tweeting, torture, social media radicalization, amputations, and slavery all in the “name of Allah.”

In the days of Noah, God saw the earth was filled with violence (ḥāmās), so he sent a flood, “for the earth is filled with violence (ḥāmās) through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth” (Genesis 6:13).

Hamas, used as both a noun and verb, appear 67 times in the Bible. More specifically, the word ḥāmās in the Old Testament is used almost always in connection with sinful violence. It does not refer to the violence of natural catastrophes. It is often a descriptor for extreme wickedness.

Members of Hamas want to annihilate Israel. In view of what the Bible says about ḥāmās, their end is sure. They will be destroyed. In response, let us pray the prayer of David: “He is the God who avenges me, who subdues nations under me, who saves me from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from [ḥāmās] violent men you rescued me” (Psalm 18:47–48).

Ḥamas in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic

While the terrorist organization’s name is actually an acronym, it is well chosen and the group is living up to the ancient meaning of its name — violence and wrong.

This real Arabic word, meaning “zeal,” meant much more a long time ago. It derives from the same root as the Hebrew and Aramaic word hāmās, which means “violence” or “wrong.” The tragic irony is that the terrorist organization of today is living up to the original meaning of the organization’s name.

The Hebrew verb is חָמַס hāmas, meaning “to do violence,” “to wrong;” the noun is חָמָס hāmās, meaning “violence,” or “wrong.” In the Hebrew Bible the verb occurs seven times, e.g., “her priests have done violence [חָמְסוּ] to my law” (Ezekiel 22:26). In the Hebrew Bible the noun occurs more than 50 times, e.g., “the earth was filled with violence [חָמָס]” (Genesis 6:11, 13 and F. Brown, with S. R. Driver and C. A. Briggs, “A Hebrew and English Lexicon of the Old Testament” BDB 329).

In later rabbinic literature the noun חָמָס hāmās can also mean “extortion” and the verb “to seize violently.” (M. Jastrow, “A Dictionary of the Targumim, the Talmud Babli and Yerushalmi, and the Midrashic Literature,” 2 vols. (London: Putnam, 1895–1903) 1:478).

The Aramaic has the same word, only spelled slightly differently: חֲמַס hămas. It means the same as the Hebrew. (M. Sokoloff, “A Dictionary of Jewish Palestinian Aramaic of the Byzantine Period” (Ramat-Gan: Bar Ilan University, 1990) 206; Jastrow, 1:478.)

The Arabic verb is cognate to the older Hebrew and Aramaic. The Arabic hamās usually means “to be hard,” “strict,” or “rigorous.” See BDB 329. In contemporary Arabic the noun is understood to mean “zeal” or “strength,” but its orignal meaning of “violence” remains. The important point is that the word itself – both noun and verb – is cognate to the Hebrew and Aramaic word. The Arabic hamās is from the same root.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., went into meltdown mode with Newsmax's Israel correspondent, Daniel Cohen, during a Sunday press conference in Tel Aviv.

At the conference Cohen asked the senators why there was not a stronger condemnation, especially of those on the left like Democrat Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who have failed to condemn Hamas' attacks.

Cohen told the senators that Tlaib's "tweet is still up condemning Israel for a hospital attack we know was a lie."

At that point, Graham, who held the podium with nine U.S. senators standing behind him, blew his gasket.

"We are here together, not to talk about the problems at home, which are many," an angry Graham said, pointing his finger at Cohen.

"I've got my own view of what to say — you're not going to screw this up," Graham continued.

When Cohen interjected he was asking a "fair question," Graham again raised his voice.

"You're not going to screw this up," he said.

The senator then pointed to security and yelled for them to remove Cohen.

"Get this guy out of here!" Graham said.

The Israeli security ignored Graham's request.

A flustered Graham then explained himself, "I am an American, I believe in free speech" — ironically just a moment after ordering Cohen be ejected from the press conference.

Graham then said he didn't agree with the Squad's views.

"But I came here with Democrats and Republicans to let everyone in the world know: Don't judge every Democrat by the Squad, and don't judge every Republican by some of the things you hear," he said.

Last week to look tough the Biden admin sanctioned a Hamas leader who was already dead, because Israel had already killed him.

Critics of the admin will obviously say "yeah that's clown world. It's clear they're not serious about countering Iranian terrorists."

But it's worse.

The way sanctions happen is, 1st, Treasury creates a file with the legal basis for sanctions and, 2nd, the administration makes a political decision whether to impose those sanctions.

The Biden admin has had files on Hamas members sitting on the shelf. They didn't impose sanctions because it would have complicated their policy of pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the Gaza Strip - it's tricky to send American taxpayer dollars towards terrorists - and anyway it was off-message to acknowledge Palestinian terrorism.

Remember that for them everything is comms for these people, including and especially foreign policy.

Then Oct. 7 happened, which was by far one of the worst terrorist attacks against Americans in history, and because everything is comms they rushed to do damage control rather than reevaluate their policy.

They reached for whatever they already had on the shelf and found their file on Hamas terrorist Ayman Nofal. They announced sanctions against him on Oct. 18.

Except the day before the Israelis had already liquidated him. You can tell Team Biden knew it, too, because they rewrote their press release that morning to acknowledge it.

So all that prompts the question: what other measures against Iran and its terrorist proxies have they been keeping on the shelf for political reasons, while Iran and those proxies planned mass attacks against Americans and our allies?
