Victor Shokin, the fired Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Biden family corruption (that Donald Trump was impeached for asking about) has spoken out for the first time since 2019 - and says the Bidens did it.

Zlochevsky, who hired Hunter Biden to sit on his board, granted his own company (Burisma) permits to drill for oil and gas in Ukraine while he was Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources. Shokin stated in a 2019 deposition that there were five criminal cases against Zlochevesky, including money laundering, corruption, illegal funds transfers, and profiteering through shell corporations while he was a sitting minister.

Now, Shokin tells Fox News that be believes the Bidens were taking bribes.

A new study on the long term effects on Covid has found that patients who were hospitalised still have a great increase risk of death even as far as two years after infection

Experts have issued a fresh Covid warning after a new study found that the risk of death was “significantly elevated” for years after a person was hospitalised with the virus.

In early 2020, the globe was rocked as Coronavirus spread from China across the world, causing millions of deaths and rocking the global economy. Even after the speedy vaccine response, and attempts to continue life as normal following the virus, for some that’s impossible.

Long Covid has plagued the lives of countless Brits, and people across the world. One new study has made a series of shocking revelations that those suffering from it, and originally hospitalised by the disease, face far greater chances of dying from an array of issues.

Previous work looked at how respiratory and pulmonary issues persisted after Covid infection for weeks and months after catching it. But the new study, published in Nature Medicine, is thought to be the first to look at the health complications and threat of death that can linger beyond the initial months and even first year.

It found that even as far as two years down the line, people who were hospitalised by Covid faced a far greater chance of dying and severely worse health complications like lung problems, diabetes, and general fatigue.

After two years, the “cumulative burden of health loss due to PASC [long Covid]” does finally decline. But the study warned “it remains unclear whether and over what time horizon the risk of postacute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 attenuates and becomes not significant”.

For patients who weren’t hospitalised by the killer virus, it takes just six months for the risk of death to no longer be significant. However, despite this, they aren’t spared from the after effects of Covid altogether and have an increased risk of over 20 medical conditions. Among these conditions, it includes: silent killers like cardiovascular issues and blood clotting trouble; diabetes, gastrointestinal problems and kidney disorders.

The study’s senior author Ziyad Al-Aly, a clinical epidemiologist at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, said that: “A lot of people think, ‘I got covid, I got over it and I’m fine,” but “maybe you’ve forgotten about the SARS-CoV-2 infection … but covid did not forget about you. It’s still wreaking havoc in your body,”

Long Covid is still not fully understood and often different bodies investigating the phenomena define it differently. The study looked at medical records for almost 140,000 US veterans who were diagnosed with Covid early in the pandemic and used a control group of almost six million who weren’t known to have been infected.

But the study highlighted that the Covid survivors they tracked were not entirely representative of the population because as military veterans they were older and mostly male. Whereas the veterans were nine out of ten male, in the general population women account for slightly over half of Long Covid patients.

The Washington Post reported that Francesca Beaudoin, an A&E medic and epidemiologist who oversees Brown University’s long-Covid initiative, said the findings “capture what we are hearing at the narrative level from patients — that … the systems [affected after recovery from Covid’s acute phase] are varied, that it results in loss of quality of life, loss of work and school.”

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection can lead to postacute sequelae in multiple organ systems, but evidence is mostly limited to the first year postinfection. We built a cohort of 138,818 individuals with SARS-CoV-2 infection and 5,985,227 noninfected control group from the US Department of Veterans Affairs and followed them for 2 years to estimate the risks of death and 80 prespecified postacute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC) according to care setting during the acute phase of infection. The increased risk of death was not significant beyond 6 months after infection among nonhospitalized but remained significantly elevated through the 2 years in hospitalized individuals. Within the 80 prespecified sequelae, 69% and 35% of them became not significant at 2 years after infection among nonhospitalized and hospitalized individuals, respectively. Cumulatively at 2 years, PASC contributed 80.4 (95% confidence interval (CI): 71.6–89.6) and 642.8 (95% CI: 596.9–689.3) disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) per 1,000 persons among nonhospitalized and hospitalized individuals; 25.3% (18.9–31.0%) and 21.3% (18.2–24.5%) of the cumulative 2-year DALYs in nonhospitalized and hospitalized were from the second year. In sum, while risks of many sequelae declined 2 years after infection, the substantial cumulative burden of health loss due to PASC calls for attention to the care needs of people with long-term health effects due to SARS-CoV-2 infection.

U.S. 4th Fleet Announces Continuing Promise 2023 Deployment

The U.S. Navy expeditionary fast transport USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10) will deploy to the U.S. Southern Command area of operations over the next two months as part of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet’s Continuing Promise 2023 mission.

Detailed planning has wrapped up for the Burlington to visit Panama, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Grenada. During these mission stops, Continuing Promise medical teams will focus on working alongside partner nation medical personnel to provide care in community clinics to increase medical readiness, strengthen partnerships, and enhance the combined capabilities of the U.S. Navy and partner nations to respond to public health disasters and humanitarian crises.

The Burlington will bring a medical engagement team to each mission stop to provide some direct patient care in community clinics and through host nation medical facilities. The team includes veterinarians who will work with animals in the host nation, biomedical technicians, Navy Seabees who will conduct small engineering projects, and the U.S. Fleet Forces Navy Band Detachment, which will entertain people through school visits and concerts.

Continuing Promise 2023 will also include training and subject matter expert exchanges on various medical and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief topics, and leading seminars on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS).

WPS is a United Nations initiative that started with UNSCR 1325 signed in 2000. It was a public acknowledgement that women are more adversely impacted by conflict and crisis, and that including women in security planning will lead to a more peaceful world. The Department of Defense (DoD) signed the WPS Implementation Plan in 2020. It outlines defense objectives and goals that the DoD will strive to achieve in order to move the bar toward full WPS implementation. U.S. Southern Command and U.S. 4th Fleet are dedicated to WPS and the promotion of gendered perspectives.

Smash-and-grab robberies are happening in broad daylight at stores throughout California and no one seems to be doing anything to stop them. Two weeks back, a Nordstrom store in the west San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles was attacked by a flash mob of 30 to 50 masked thieves. (Snip) Voters had an opportunity in November 2020 to approve an initiative that would have reformed Propositions 47 and 57 by reclassifying specific crimes to allow tougher penalties. This was Proposition 20. The initiative would have helped undo so much of its predecessors’ damage, but it went down in defeat, 62% to 38%.

Gold Will Destroy The Keynesian Fallacies

Leaders of the Western democracies are unprepared to deal with forces that will end the fiat dollar’s dominance as the preferred medium of international trade settlement, in place since the end of the Bretton Woods Agreement in 1971.

The BRICS summit, currently taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, is expected to include an agreement on a first step toward establishing an alternative international trade settlement system based on commodities, which would certainly include gold. Dozens of non-Western and even some Western affiliated nations are attending with great interest. Six new members have been invited to join Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Although the coming change may be characterized as one between the Western democracies and the BRICS nations, the real battle is one of ideas between Keynesian economic theory and gold. The winner will be gold.

As Murray N. Rothbard explained in What Has Government Done to Our Money?, gold was never proven to be inferior to fiat money. The gold standard was not replaced by a better monetary system. It was suppressed in stages to satisfy the state’s insatiable need for money-first to make war and then to corrupt the people via welfare. The result, of course, has been never-ending wars, creeping expansion of the welfare state, unsustainable public deficits, and accelerating debasement of the currency.

The challenge to the fiat dollar began with its debasement, which lowered its purchasing power to gold by 98% since 1971, and accelerated with introduction of the so-called “Russian Sanctions” of freezing Russian owned assets in the West and denying Russia access to the international dollar trade settlement messaging system known as SWIFT. Russian monetary expert Sergey Glazyev has led the movement toward an alternative system.

The Covid-19 vaccines were secretly developed by the US Department of Defence (DoD) and handed over to major Big Pharma companies to distribute to the public, according to a Big Pharma insider who has testified that the pharmaceutical industry’s main role in the ‘pandemic’ has been to provide cover for a massive bio-terrorism program.

According to Sasha Latypova, a former pharmaceutical research and development executive, she personally witnessed that the strong safety surveillance signals of the new Covid-19 vaccines being registered in the US Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) were not triggering the automatic stop & recall mechanism, and the relevant regulatory bodies were showing no concern.

The Light reports: To illustrate her point, she explains that in January of 2021, an unusual number of allergic reactions were flagged up in California, following the administration of the Moderna product. In any normal safety surveillance system, lots are tracked by their numbers, and if a clustering of problems or deaths occurs with certain batches, these are immediately recalled for analysis. This is automatic and is done by the manufacturers, in the same way as for car parts or food products.

Instead, in this instance, the lots in question were simply distributed more widely, causing sixty-five deaths and three thousand serious adverse events. Latypova explains that once a safety signal is flagged up and no recall action is forthcoming, law enforcement is normally triggered and prosecution of those responsible follows.

She emphasizes, however, that we are not dealing with straightforward pharmaceutical corruption. The fraud which confronts us is all-encompassing because at its center is the government, through the Department of Defense (DoD), with the complicity of the pharmaceutical industry.

The pharmaceutical industry’s main role in the project has been to provide cover for what is a military bioterrorism program. They went through the motions of conducting animal studies and clinical trials of the ‘covid-19 vaccines’, and of submitting applications for drug approval to the corresponding regulators in each jurisdiction.

All this was entirely for the benefit of the public because regulators of medicines and medical devices have no authority over the distribution of these injectibles, which are classed as military ‘counter-measures’. They are passed off as pharmaceutical vaccines because no one would take a substance from a vial with a DoD label marked ‘prototype’. According to Latypova, they are also described in government documents as dual-use (military and civilian) biological weapons. Latypova explains that the entire logistical operation of development, procurement, production, and distribution is run by the U.S. DoD. They farm out the manufacturing to hundreds of separate military contractors all over the world, and there are dozens of production steps, each implemented by a facility that fulfills a single process in the chain.

Substances are shipped internationally from one place to another, where workers have no idea what the materials they receive contain. They are simply instructed to mix them and ship the product to the next location. So the normal requisites of quality control procedures which take place at a plant at the various stages of production, to test for contaminants and ensure consistency, as well as the in-spections to certify good manufacturing practices, are completely absent.

Largely inexperienced operatives, untrained in the proper procedures for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products pose little threat of whistle-blowing. It is a compartmentalized operation under military control. The result is billions of vials of biological materials of unknown composition all over the world. Some may be blanks; some may be extremely toxic.

Once we correct the false assumption that the injectables are pharmaceuticals regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and by the corresponding regulators of health products in other countries, some pieces of the puzzle start falling into place. We cease wondering why the ‘safe and effective’ mantra is robotically repeated by those supposedly responsible for regulating and monitoring drug safety, in the face of overwhelming evidence of harm. It is because the approval process was a sham and the regulators have no power over the product.

European Medicines Agency (EMA) email communications examined by Latypova revealed that their reviewers raised 140 objections against Conditional Marketing Approval. She explains that ten to fifteen objections would ordinarily be sufficient to halt an approval. Notwithstanding, a fortnight later, the products were shipped internationally, breaking every rule.

China may be behind UFO sightings – former NASA official

Many unidentified aircraft could be “from other places on earth,” Dr. Thomas Zurbuchen has claimed

So-called Chinese “spy balloons” may be mistaken for extraterrestrial craft, former NASA Science Mission Directorate deputy head Dr. Thomas Zurbuchen has told The Telegraph. Zurbuchen remains convinced that something is out there, but warned that “unfriendly”technology from Earth is a likely explanation.

“The fact that there are unexplained phenomena is not a question for me,”Zurbuchen told the British newspaper on Saturday. “What they are and what they mean, and how we prove they exist is something that needs more work.”

As NASA’s longest-serving associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate, Zurbuchen chaired the agency’s Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) panel last year. The panel examined hundreds of accounts from witnesses who claimed to have seen mysterious flying objects, but did not conclude that any were of extraterrestrial origin.

“There could be multiple explanations,” he said. “If we are looking at technology then it may not be friendly and that is something we should know. It could be technology from other places on Earth and that would be pretty scary.”

Several months after the panel convened, US fighter jets shot down a high-altitude balloon off the coast of South Carolina. The Pentagon referred to the craft as a Chinese “spy balloon,” although Beijing maintained that it was a civilian airship that had drifted off course. Three other similar balloons were spotted over the US around this time, but none were linked to China.

“The whole balloon phenomena we cannot ignore because if we ignore what we see then we will suddenly get surprised,” Zurbuchen said.

Zurbuchen also suggested that natural phenomena “like luminescent clouds, or something we’ve never seen before,” could explain some sightings, while others could be written off as “some kind of camera problem.”

Some testimony is less easily explainable. A former US Navy fighter pilot who witnessed a tic-tac shaped craft perform impossible feats of aerobatics off the coast of California in 2004 insisted that the object was not man-made. Another pilot stationed on the same aircraft carrier said that she saw the object drop 80,000ft (just under 25,000m) in less than a second, and travel dozens of miles in seconds. Video footage of the encounter was leaked in 2017, but denied by the Pentagon until it was declassified three years later.

“The way that the navy pilots were ridiculed I felt for them,” Zurbuchen told The Telegraph. “I’m convinced they were telling the truth about what they saw. The most important scientists like Einstein went through a time where traditional science ridiculed them.”

The Pentagon created its own UAP tracking unit last year, but has not announced any evidence of alien activity. However, a veteran intelligence officer told a Congressional hearing last month that the US military has been in possession of “non-human” spacecraft and the remains of alien pilots for several decades. The Pentagon has firmly denied his claims.

NATO’s Ukraine strategy has failed – ex-Italian PM

Western efforts to arm Kiev and break the Russian economy are getting nowhere, Giuseppe Conte has said

NATO’s attempts to inflict defeat on Russia in the Ukraine conflict have completely missed their mark as Moscow continues to stand tall amid Kiev’s faltering counteroffensive and Western sanctions, former Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on Saturday.

Writing on Facebook, Conte, who leads the Five Star Movement party, noted that the year and a half of hostilities between Moscow and Kiev had shown that it was time to “put aside the optimistic assessments… fueled by a superficial as well as deafening war propaganda” in the West.

The strategy of the US-led military block, which has so far hinged on massive military aid to Kiev and the “logic of escalation,” has failed to bring about the much-hoped-for demise of the Russian military, Conte said. He recalled that Ukraine never managed to push Russian forces back from Artyomovsk (known as Bakhmut in Ukraine), a key Donbass stronghold that Russia captured in May after months of fierce fighting.

“There has been no disintegration of [Russia’s] military and paramilitary departments, there has been no retreat due to the Ukrainian counteroffensive,” the ex-prime minister stressed, adding that Western hopes for domestic political turmoil in the country also failed to materialize.

Meanwhile, the harsh sanctions imposed by the West on Russia “have not bankrupted it or crippled its economy,” Conte continued, noting that the long-stated goal of isolating Moscow “has by no means been achieved.”

To underscore his point, the politician pointed to the recent BRICS summit – Russia is a member of the group – which ended with an unprecedented expansion of the group.

In addition to this, Conte claimed that the Ukraine conflict “has exposed the EU’s inability to develop an effective common strategy and to express autonomous political and economic leadership.” Instead, it has become yet another indicator of thebloc’s kowtowing to the US.

Conte’s comments come as the Ukrainian counteroffensive has failed to gain any significant ground despite more than two months of fighting. According to Moscow, Kiev has lost more than 43,000 service members and nearly 5,000 pieces of military equipment since the start of the push.

The former Italian prime minister, who held the office from 2018 to 2021, has in the past repeatedly called for peace talks between the belligerents in Ukraine while opposing further arms deliveries to Kiev, warning of a potential escalation.

Andrey ‘Juice’ Pilshchikov, who campaigned for the delivery of F-16s to Kiev, was among the three pilots who died on Friday

Ukraine has lost a “mega talent,” the country’s air force spokesperson has said, commenting on the death of fighter pilot Andrey ‘Juice’ Pilshchikov. One of the faces of Kiev’s campaign for the delivery of F-16 fighter jets, he was killed along with two of his colleagues during a training flight on Friday.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Ukrainian Air Force representative Yury Ignat described Pilshchikov as a “young officer with mega knowledge and mega talent,” who contributed a lot to reforming the country’s military aviation.

The spokesperson added that the late pilot met with US government officials last year, lobbying for the provision of F-16s. According to Ignat, Pilshchikov, who spoke English well, also talked a lot about Kiev’s needs during his numerous interviews with Western media.

The official recounted how much Juice had yearned to fly the F-16, adding that his death has special poignancy now that the “American planes are actually on the horizon.”

In his video address on Telegram on Saturday, President Vladimir Zelensky extended his condolences to the fighter pilot’s family, calling Pilshchikov “one of those who helped our country a lot.”

He added that an investigation into the deadly incident had been launched.

In its statement, the Ukrainian Air Force said that Pilshchikov and two other pilots were killed when two L-39 combat training aircraft collided over Zhytomyr region west of Kiev on Friday.

Several media outlets, citing eyewitnesses and experts, suggested that the two crews may have been practicing formation flying, and that the planes had come too close to each other.

Ukraine had been asking its Western backers to supply it with US-made F-16 fighter jets for months before Denmark and the Netherlands confirmed their readiness to hand over a number of warplanes last week.

On Monday, Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh confirmed receipt of the requests for F-16 transfers. She added, however, that Ukrainian pilots would first need to improve their English, noting that this is liable to “take some time.”

Ukrainian Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov, in turn, told the media on Tuesday that the fighter jets will not be arriving in Ukraine for at least another six months.

Moscow has repeatedly warned that supplies of more sophisticated weapons to Ukraine by the US and its allies could result in a major escalation of hostilities.

Nikki Haley, who also backs more American funds and military support for the conflict, made similar remarks. “Look at what Putin did today. He killed Prigozhin. When I was at the U.N., the Russian ambassador suddenly died. This guy is a murderer,” said Haley.

But the debate turned personal a moment later, as Haley charged that Ramaswamy is “choosing a murderer over a pro-American country.”

"I wish you well on your future career on the boards of Lockheed and Raytheon," Ramaswamy shot back.

“You would make America less safe. You have no foreign policy experience, and it shows,” countered Haley.

The incendiary exchange, which instantly became a viral, made-for-television exchange clip shared widely, belied a deeper divide in foreign policy and the curious background of Haley, who went from near negligible wealth – with virtually no assets or investments other than a bank account with less than $15,000 in 2017 and up to $1 million in debt – to a sizable fortune.

Over the last year, Haley and her husband reported a vast investment stock portfolio and $12 million of income.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is demanding that governments around the globe enforce vaccine mandates, claiming that the move is vital in mitigating the impact of “climate change.”

The WHO argues that the threat of diseases being spread by mosquitoes migrating to new regions is rising due to “global warming.”

The unprecedented situation comes months after a Bill Gates tech start-up released millions of genetically modified mosquitoes into the wild.

Various states across the country have reported a sharp increase in mosquito-borne viruses.

In the Midwest, cases of the mosquito-borne Jamestown Canyon Virus are on the rise.

Jamestown Canyon virus can cause severe disease, including infection of the brain (encephalitis) or the membranes around the brain and spinal cord (meningitis).

Health officials say two mosquito pools in South Georgia have tested positive for Eastern equine encephalitis which has a 30% fatality rate in humans.

And it’s not just humans in the firing line.

The mystery surrounding the Nord Stream Pipeline bombing remains unsolved, and interestingly, there’s a widespread belief among some analysts that the U.S. may have been involved in some capacity. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), part of the Department of Homeland Security, has bought millions of dollars worth of software from a company that uses artificial intelligence to detect “sentiment and emotion” in online posts, according to a cache of documents obtained by 404 Media.

CBP told 404 Media it is using technology to analyze open source information related to inbound and outbound travelers who the agency believes may threaten public safety, national security, or lawful trade and travel. In this case, the specific company called Fivecast also offers “AI-enabled” object recognition in images and video, and detection of “risk terms and phrases” across multiple languages, according to one of the documents.

Marketing materials promote the software’s ability to provide targeted data collection from big social platforms like Facebook and Reddit, but also specifically names smaller communities like 4chan, 8kun, and Gab. To demonstrate its functionality, Fivecast promotional materials explain how the software was able to track social media posts and related Persons-of-Interest starting with just “basic bio details” from a New York Times Magazine article about members of the far-right paramilitary Boogaloo movement. 404 Media also obtained leaked audio of a Fivecast employee explaining how the tool could be used against trafficking networks or propaganda operations.

The news signals CBP’s continued use of artificial intelligence in its monitoring of travelers and targets, which can include U.S. citizens. In May, I revealed CBP’s use of another AI tool to screen travelers which could link peoples’ social media posts to their Social Security number and location data. This latest news shows that CBP has deployed multiple AI-powered systems, and provides insight into what exactly these tools claim to be capable of while raising questions about their accuracy and utility.

“CBP should not be secretly buying and deploying tools that rely on junk science to scrutinize people's social media posts, claim to analyze their emotions, and identify purported 'risks,'” Patrick Toomey, deputy director of the ACLU's National Security Project, told 404 Media in an email.

404 Media obtained the documents through Freedom of Information Act requests with CBP and other U.S. law enforcement agencies.

One document obtained by 404 Media marked “commercial in confidence” is an overview of Fivecast’s “ONYX” product. In it Fivecast says its product can be used to target individuals or groups, single posts, or events. As well as collecting from social media platforms big and small, Fivecast users can also upload their own “bulk” data, the document says. Fivecast says its tool has been built “in consultation” with Five Eyes law enforcement and intelligence agencies, those being agencies from the U.S., United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Specifically on building “person-of-interest” networks, the tool “is optimized for this exact requirement.”

Given the strong evidence that ADE is a non‐theoretical and compelling risk for COVID‐19 vaccines and the “laundry list” nature of informed consents, disclosure of the specific risk of worsened COVID‐19 disease from vaccination calls for a specific, separate, informed consent form and demonstration of patient comprehension in order to meet medical ethics standards. The informed consent process for ongoing COVID‐19 vaccine trials does not appear to meet this standard. While the COVID‐19 global health emergency justifies accelerated vaccine trials of candidates with known liabilities, such an acceleration is not inconsistent with additional attention paid to heightened informed consent procedures specific to COVID‐19 vaccine risks.

New York Gov. (D) Kathy Hochul has announced a jobs program for illegal immigrants coming into the state at the same time that around 380,000 New York State citizens are unemployed.

Hochul's office announced the program in a press release calling on President Joe Biden to use the federal government to provide work authorization for more than 100,000 migrants who have entered the state. Meanwhile, 380,000 New Yorkers are unemployed.

This comes after Hochul announced the implementation of a measure to protect illegal immigrants from labor investigations in July.

The press release states, "Governor Hochul directed the New York State Department of Labor (DOL) to help connect asylum seekers to employment opportunities so they can begin working immediately after obtaining federal work authorization."

Prior to the announcement of the program, Hochul directed $20 million in taxpayer dollars to "expedite the casework filing process for more than 30,000" migrants in the state after already using $1.5 billion to support the same group with shelter, healthcare, and other measures.

New York City's unemployment rate is up to 5.3 percent as of July, while the national unemployment rate hovered around 3.5 percent. During the first half of 2023, an average of 10,000 migrants arrived in the city each month.

In the release, Hochul also attached a letter to President Joe Biden to assist the state government in its struggle to take on the additional cost of handling the crisis.

In the letter, Hochul requests four objectives to be taken by the Biden administration. Work authorizations are among those requests.

Hochul additionally asked for more financial assistance. To date, the federal government has sent $145 million in contributions to assist the state while NYC Mayor Eric Adams has estimated the crisis could cost $12 billion total.

Hochul also asked for temporary shelters, as the NYC shelter system is caring for over 58,000 migrants and has already opened 200 shelters of its own in response to the crisis.

Hochul also asked Biden to reimburse the costs of the National Guard in NYC and other counties around the state. The services provided have cost over $22 million each month to the state of New York.

Hochul ended the letter to Biden by saying that it "is the federal government’s direct responsibility to manage and control of the nation’s borders." She stressed that without "any capacity or responsibility to address the cause of the migrant influx, New Yorkers cannot then shoulder these costs."

It’s also scary. Children are being told that global warming is killing their favorite animals. At Slackwood Elementary School in New Jersey, first graders are taught that transportation, heating, and raising livestock are “making Earth feel unwell.”

The reality is that these children are too young to comprehend the trade-offs of moving to zero carbon immediately. A first grader doesn’t know Mommy can’t afford an electric vehicle – average price $53,000.

Children should be taught about the wonders of nature, learning to identify mammals, reptiles, fish and birds, oceans, plants and deserts. They are too young to address the ethical and economic implications of eliminating fossil fuels.

First graders don’t understand the impact on their family’s budget when the Con Ed bill doubles to pay for the shift to wind and solar, which New Yorkers are warned will happen here.

The U.S. has already reduced emissions of the six most common pollutants by 78% since 1970, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. But try explaining that to a first grader who doesn’t know percentages and has no frame of reference for comparing the U.S. record with, say, the soaring pollution rates in China and India.

These issues are appropriate for high school students, and they should be presented as controversies – with all viewpoints included.

Climate education advocates say they’re just teaching “facts” everyone agrees on. Don’t buy it.

The Republican primary debate charade, hosted by a hapless Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, revealed two things: Vivek Ramaswamy is a rising star, and Donald Trump dominated as the elephant not in the room.

The Democrats and the media run a constant clown show, but the Republicans play along as useless puppets, willfully participating in a system designed to destroy them. The Republican party is allowing itself to be rigged by playing by the rules of an old system that no longer exists. The Democrats, bureaucracy, and media are vicious apparatchiks. They are a dirty and obvious enemy who clearly need to be fought. The Republicans are worse because they don’t see their own participation in the Big Lie. They would rather step over Trump’s dead political body than save the republic. In so doing, they will never have power again, even if they regain it. They will be vassals of the state apparatus, nothing more … or else.

Donald Trump is not the Republican front runner. He’s the presumptive nominee. Further, he’s the most popular politician in America. Trump created a coalition that made the Rust Belt winnable. He turned Ohio, Florida, and Iowa reliably red. He made Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin gettable. In Florida, he out-won Ron DeSantis by 1 million votes.

Why the all-out assault on Donald Trump? Because in a fair system, he wins — and he wins bigly.

The assault on Trump and anyone who supported him is an attack on the only one standing in the way of generations of Democrat power, and the Republicans are pretending that America and the Republican Party can return to a Bush-era neocon Republicanism that simply doesn’t exist anymore outside the beltway.

How, pray tell, would any of the Republicans on the debate stage win in the general election? Where do they win, and how do they expand Trump’s coalition? Is their big strategy to win back Georgia and Arizona?

Only one candidate on the debate stage tangentially dealt with this reality: Vivek Ramaswamy. That every other Republican doesn’t understand the heart of the lie was revealed by Vivek. He knows that the biggest issue facing the republic is the disintegration of the rule of law surrounding the persecution and baseless prosecution of Donald Trump and anyone who supports him. “Downed power lines, which would kill you if you drove over them — Or a fire that’s engulfed the area,” said MPD Chief John Pelletier.

“So there was a point when we didn’t let traffic into Front Street because Front Street was on fire. But we did not impede people from exiting the area.”

This comes as Maui County is suing HECO for allegedly causing the fires by not shutting off power ahead of time due to the high winds and dry brush.

Authorities barricaded the only paved road out of the town of Lahaina, blocking residents from leaving as a devastating fire swept across Maui earlier this month, survivors of the deadly disaster said, according to The Associated Press.

While Maui Police Chief John Pelletier insisted no one was prevented from escaping one of the deadliest wildfires in American history, survivors said authorities closed the Hanoapiilani Highway and a bypass out of Lahaina.

One family who drove around the barricades survived the blaze.

“Nobody realized how little time we really had,” said Nate Baird, who drove his wife and two young sons to safety. “Like even us being from the heart of the fire, we did not comprehend. Like, we literally had minutes and one wrong turn. We would all be dead right now.”

The AP reported that a woman and her 3-year-old daughter escaped the fire by taking a dirt road to a neighboring town. Another mother and her two children were forced to ignore traffic rules to flee the deadly fire.
