The 6 pony Mane Six and the 6 EQG Mane Six are 12 separate characters. Do you prefer any of the EQG versions over their original pony counterparts? I know I do.

 EQG Fluttershy > Pony Fluttershy

Pony Flutters has become kinda bitchy and snappy in the show now. EQG Flutters still retains that sweet shyness and naivete that ponyshy use to have.

EQG Twilight > Pony Twilight

Tara Strong's political beliefs are starting to seep into the show. Season 8 was all about pony Twilight pushing for "everycreature" diversity. Twilight herself is also now a poor man's Pinkie-lite in how crazy she reacts to things. Because of all that, I'd much prefer to have a nerdy shy wallflower type like EQG Twilight instead of ponyTwi.

Pony Rainbow > EQG Rainbow

A lightning fast flying pegasus is much more interesting than some normal high school jock.

Pony Rarity > EQG Rarity

Likewise, pony Rare runs a successful fashion empire and knows more about clothes than some unemployed kid in high school.

Pony Pinkie > EQG Pinkie

The human tries, but can never outcrazy the original pony jokester.

Pony AJ = EQG AJ

Meh. Never liked AJ. Neither as a pony or as a human.

I, for one, welcome the extra eccentricity. Whenever it doesn't feel forced and cringy, that is, which, too often, it does.

Pony Twilight was never shy, just modest, and neither is she particularily introverted. SciTwi a bore, and a shit. not that I'm fit to judge since I haven't watched much of EqG

No, I think EqG monkeys are butt-ugly and only ever look good from a narrow set of favorable angles. The one good thing I can say about EqG is how many cool outfits they show.
