I feel like I’m falling out of love with my waifu. Maybe I’ve been watching too much of the later seasons, leaving me sad and empty seeing something that looks like my beloved, but is in fact totally different. Should I embrace this and move on from her, or is there something I can do to rekindle my feelings for Twilight?

If a character takes an action completely contrary to their established character, such as immediately and suddenly accepting becoming royalty, then for me the only logical conclusion is that they're no longer themselves. That really doesn't fit with the sheer number of christmas episodes we've gotten in the seasons since. Time is clearly progressing at a rate of one year in the show per season.

The reason shit doesn't fit the continuity is just that the writers are too stupid to keep track of the shows continuity.

On top of what >>319525 said, how trustworthy is what was said? The timeline in the show is inconsistent, especially since in the most recent season we shot through 11 months or so in the span of at most 6 episodes, and it's not like any supposed original canon is adhered to. I doubt that was really the case. Even if it is, there are 24 episodes per season if you combine each of the 2-parters into 1, and each episode covers one to seven days. Huge chunks of the year in-universe would occur outside of the episodes, and a lot of character development time in a system where a strict limit of on-air time is allowed would occur outside of the episodes.
