"Everypony" isn't so bad. What is bad is when the Mane Six would catch themselves saying "everypony" to be inclusive for the gaijin piggu, who, of course, shit on ponies and pony culture a huge portion of the time. And that hippie freak pony takes it like the bitch he is.
I haven't seen most of season 7 or season 8, I would recommend watching the season 8 opener and finale at least. They're still shitty of course, but less shitty (as the seasons' openers and finales typically are---better than the rest), and somewhat interesting. I don't remember when Cozy Glow shows up so you might want to do some summary reading before you watch the finale. Anyway, I just want it to end. And gen 5 looks mostly; I like some ideas like the World Tree, but it isn't that original when you know Faust is the reason they're doing it in the first place, also RIP punished mom, fallen to the tumblrite curse ;_; like it's going to be complete ass.
I'm surprised there are even bronies left. Seems like most of the horsefuckers stayed, though. I don't blame them for leaving, of course. The new writers throughout the later seasons have treated the show less like a show for everyone and more like a show for a young child demographic though kids shouldn't be watching trash (and if they're young enough, they oughtn't to be watching anything), that's what the companies sell, greatly simplifying dialogue and characters (the latter of which is a natural degeneration of these types of shows, which could have been easily avoided but anyway), among other things.
Gen 5 probably wouldn't even be so bad if they didn't want to shove +2015-era political shitflinging, like diversity and whatnot. And sure, gen 4 had feminism in mind, but it was before third wave and thus wasn't completely in-your-face, which is why we liked it, because it was still good. Faust still prioritized a good story and setting over all else. I still like some of the later seasons, but I really miss the old days. I also miss not being surrounded by fresh adults born ~1996+, but anyway.
