First two seasons, or maybe a few select episodes in the next few seasons, got most of us initially hooked, now it's gone to shit and we're only here because of waifus, a sense of devotion, a lack of willpower to leave, and the fact that ponies are both simultaneously the cutest and hottest things existing. Pick and choose.

Watch the first four episodes. If you don't like it it's probably not for you and it's ok. If you like it watch the first two seasons and then STOP.

don't start with the first four. Skip forward a little ways when you can tell applejack from RD by voice alone; by then the mane 6's chemistry has solidified better, and it actually feels like they're supposed to be traveling together.

I love the first two episodes of S1, fuck y'all.

Epic buzzwords. I just don't think Lauren Faust is a good episode writer. I'm giving my personal opinion on the first two episodes, not everyone who disagrees with you is some edgy contrarian 4channer looking to go against the grain.

Season 1 was a blank canvas of potential with little ponies in a big equestrian world. And while season 2 still held this potential for the most part, it didn't directly improve upon season 1's flaws. Now beyond the obvious mortal sin of season 3, season 4 and beyond the mane 6 have become superheros, famous, and teach a fucking school. The mane 6 are now also more important and more powerful than the fucking princesses themselves and thus it is now big ponies in a little world, a world that bows to twilight sparkles ego. Remember winter wrap up, how original it was and how it melded the lore of pony society and their aspect of controlling the weather and seasons?
