basically, everything has slowed down since 2015. We are doomed to the 2nd rule:enthropy. The first years were explosive but turns out that glorious explosion is the price we are paying over the years.

A lot of those characters were shit, but I get what you are saying. They have been taking some characters like Trixie. dragons, changelings, and making them much more center stage, but it's a juggling act because they have to keep the focus on the main cast otherwise the show is all over the place. The problem is that since the show is not focused on telling a larger story like Lord of the Rings it feels more like a sitcom with random shit happening and zero follow up. I mean there are video game franchises that tell a better coherent story.

That was the fear from day 1. The second people took the show seriously everyone was afraid of "le ebil hasjew" ruining the show for shekels. I don't feel like they are pumping out episodes to focus on toy sales, but rather the show is so held back because target audience + toy opportunity + limited time = no risks, no fun, only what is "safe" to sell.

Even sitcoms need a consistent universe. Seinfeld was about nothing, but the show still needed the backdrop of 90s New York for the humor and aimless stories to make any sense. 90s New York is a consistent setting that the audience understands and which provides a normalcy for the humor of the show to subvert. Post-Faust Equestria is just an empty receptical for whatever the creators and/or suits feel the need to toss in in order to present a given narrative. That undermines both drama and humor. Also, it ruins the immersion that had attracted the first fans.

I think I have to agree with you. After those painful EQG movies and confirmation on a new show based off that abomination, it is painfully obvious that they are forcing a meme because they think having a retarded monster high totally unique setting that conveniently resets all the story is great. I am 100% sure no one asked for this, but here we are in 2018 with a shitty high school version of MLP that gets to retell the exact same story all over, except this time with 150% more AIDS. I think I could type a 10 page paper on why EQG is the cancer killing MLP, but looks like it is here to stay.

it was a commercial failure, hasbro rushed the development and multiple character arcs were cut like AJ and Flutters doing literally anything. It's mainly a pinkiepie and twilight movie with RD on the side.

They threw a whole lot of money at the hand drawn toon boom animation, which is animated really well but that bit them in the ass because of how little they actually sold in theaters to make up the cost.

They canceled the FiM movie2 because of how bad FiM movie 1 did and instead of hand drawn the next MLP movie is going to be a series reboot (gen5) ending FiM G4, it's going to be CGI too because they wasted tons and tons of money on hand drawn animation. One can only hope that it'll be as good as Disney's 3d like Tangled which at least tries to emulate 2d instead of just being dreamworks shit.

FiM was going to have a second movie according to the leaks. It was canceled due to how bad FiMs movie sold.

Instead they're going to push for a series reboot starting with a new movie prequel for the new tv series. only the movie is going to be 3d, the show is still going to be 2d probably flash like g4.

They're going to nuke G4 and start over after the next season. Understand?
