For that to work, you need people with actual talent. People of skill require money, which means you need actual funds for the project. After that, you need people to market the 'better show', and then pray the show appeals to something other than a niche group.

Given how a lot of past attempts at creating episodes have ended in fabulous ruin, I doubt it would even get off the ground. What every successful project needs is a leader, someone with vision, and drive. Someone who doesn't afraid of anything, and can make the right calls.
Take /mlp/s 'Do or Deer' project. The one calling the shots invited retarded Tumlrfags into the group, leaving it in ruin. That guy at least had the 'balls' to take control, but he wasn't qualified to lead due to being a fucking moron.
