It's funny that Fluttershy was conceived as an angellic figure with motherly powers like The Stare, because she really would be a terrible mother. A good mother has to walk the walk that her children learn to mimic. Sure Fluttershy is kind and goodnatured, but she is hardly an exemplar of healthy adult behavior relative to Rarity or Applejack. Those two set examples that Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle try to follow. That's what we really want out of a mother: someone who cares that we can actually look up to.

Cely would be a terrible mom. She's so emotionally distant and busy running the country she doesn't have any time to spend on the people around her.

Case in point, the whole NMM incident and the way she was basically ignoring Twilight for most of Best Night Ever.

Silly headcanon needs more supporting evidence to be taken seriously.

Celestia is an idiot. Case in point, despite thousands of years of experience, she still acts like an airheaded teenager in Celestial advice.

She is still continuing her old habbits that alienated Luna in the first place, leading to the original NMM incident. Case in point, Luna not being invited to Cadances wedding and the "friendship problem" Glimglam had to take care of.

Every time she shows up in the show, Celestia either just sits by smiling, gets her flank kicked or makes terrible decisions. How the fuck does this make her a good mother?
