howdy, i have question that may get hate here however, i recently got into and binged all of MLP:fim, S1E1-S7e18. and i was wondering, is there a more adult show like mlp ?

now i knaw mlp is not just for adults, however in certain episodes i wondered why are the psycological things not delved into a bit more, like the guilt from luna, its over in one episode, and i think it would take a lot more than asking for help once and like a day, thats a continuing process, why not show it? same for like, death of a family, various other things.

thats actualy why ive enjoyed the starlight Glimer arc so much, her past and getting over it coninously come up. Feels more relevant to me. so yeah overworded, likely still not getting my point across complety, is there a show that meets that sorta criteria, and is still baised arund being social and not a shut-in (or worse, a NEET) forever?

No show. You have to delve into fanfiction to find it … and that can be quite the trip.

Fallout Equestria is known for being a bit darker, without being angsty for the sake of it like, say, Project: Horizons. I'm a big fan, that's why I keep mentioning it when the subject comes up.

Somebody tried to write a Lovecraftian spin on the inner workings of MLP, but listen too much to his critics and removed all the purple prose. Then stepped back and looked at the whole thing and realized Lovecraft w/o purple prose is garbage, and stopped writing altogether.

I don't doubt there must be animes that take you in the direction(s) you're wanting to travel in – but I know nothing of anime, so can't suggest anything. Also, most anime, from what I've seen, just focuses on a single emotion, and not the whole gamut of human experience as we've seen MLP:FiM do in its time.

tl;dr: LOL I dunno good luck!

Just watch any superhero-themed TV show. That is pretty much what they are.

Stardust and its sequel, being a crossover with XCOM, is rather dark in certain sections as well.

after looking into the fan creations i the oddly well named "friendship is for adults" by the kanterlot seems to more or less meet what i was looking for. ill be sure to look into some of the other stuff though.

also like i said im not great at communication, i did not want superhero at all.

>darker

Thinking that this somehow makes a product better if a massive fallacy. Just stick to the formula that got the original audience on board.

If only the show creators had.

Try Generation 1 MLP. Also, never put anything in the name field.
