Why didn't they make him more intimidating? His final design is garbage and John's nerdy voice doesn't help him in the least. Honestly John Lancie should have voiced a Santa Clause for this cartoon rather than a villain.

I was honestly expecting another black alicorn or perhaps a unicorn. Did not expect a chimera or a chinese dragon.

I seriously hope nobody was being serious when they wrote the discorded ponies. They were nothing but comic-relief, I cannot feel for characters who can't take themselves seriously to begin with, it's hypocritical of the writer.

Everyone should have seen it coming when Faust and the rest announced that they quit after season 1.

Hasbro's meddling in the pitch bible and creative decisions is why season 1 turned out so downwatered to begin it. I wouldn't have been so disappointed with season 2 if I had one genuine quality season to go back to and rewatch every year.

I fuckin swear in an interview she said she submitted manticore designs to Hasbro and they all got rejected for not being scary enough, and that made her happy because she wasn't used to getting the kind of creative freedom she wanted.

Somebody actually used clips of the preview and the episode right after it aired. That's how starved the video makers were of fresh content.

Little did they realize that seasons 2-7 were going to be horrible for dynamic editing. Stuff like lesson zero - rainbow dash nuking the barn was only going to be used for nuke/bomb-related scenes, you can't use it for a normal flight sequence.

This is what the chimera looks like. The moron with the original retarded idea about just mashing together all sorts of body parts and calling it a "chimera" was also the same retard who said no "make him a snake-dragon without the head of a pony".

Faust drew some amazing look sketches, turning shit to good. But then the big fat arrogant executive gave her a sketch of his own and put her to draw it. You have to be real autistic to reject good executions on bad ideas or autistic enough to come up with shit ideas nobody wants and still stubbornly praise it as good.

The original pics for Discord were inside the pitch bible leak.

What? Those sketches look like shit, especially those first three. They're way too goofy, even for Discord, and look like they belong in a Hanna-Barbera cartoon. The next 4 are a good attempt but are taken in a completely opposite direction and are too serious. The current design combines the two and makes him look menacing and odd at the same time. Execs actually did something right for once. Keep sucking Faust's teat.

The executives sucked dick, they combined gruesome/serious with cute and we got garbage like Owlicious, the diamond dogs and a few other ugly looking animals.

Notice how the final designs try to give Discord some proportions and the idiot executives+animators just keep giving him that cheap S-shaped body because they don't give a shit about quality assurance. Same problem with the original expressions vs Dhx/Vogel's expressions.

If the ponies were as unappealing as Hasbro's suggestions/mandates then nobody would have watched MLP and I mean nobody.

Anyone could make a better cartoon show than a bunch of autistic manchildren with objectively degenerate tastes.
