I would look up family friendly hotels that means once i get into a room i would know that there are children, i would do it in the midst of the regular booking season, question is why the other children didnt notice it in that room that night, probably because the adults checked in quite often and the children got used to it.
I also pick a hotel that has many people going in and out, question is if i pick the locks the dogs would probably notice it, or maybe not.
I have a trolley where i can put the child in. Maybe i noticed the family randomly waited for 2-3 days to see their patterns and when the children are alone. Probably shortly after they got their food, depending on the serving time. I pick the locks and put the child into a trolley. Maybe prepared to not leave a scent.
