I think they realize they see the machinery. Now usually a machine doesnt have a soul but they will give it one. All these companies pulling out is becaue they do not want to be blamed, and that is one blip of how all of this works. The reddit cattle will give in to that because they have been domesticated and they have certain personality traits that align with that.
Something happens => rationalization by using psychological exploits, either manufactured or naturally occuring.
And one day they will look in the mirror and see that they are in fact soyboys, predicated a long time ago. Because you cannot conquer human nature for that long without eventually feeling utter distaste for yourself.
