ITT: Discuss the not so new news that CIA niggers, FBI, et all can hack into your car and drive you into a pole at 60+MPH, start a fire, steer you into an oncoming truck, etc.

If you have a car with a fancy ECU, and electronic throttle body, GPS, blutooth, etc you are vulnerable. Basically, unless you drive an old shit box you can be remote controlled. My newer hyundai has electronic steering. As in, there's no mechanical steering column, it's like playing a not so fast racing game. Easily hackable.

It's likely none of us are important enough to be targeted but still. Grinds your gears doesn't it?

The only way to avoid it is to buy cars made before 2007 or so. New cars are shit anyway.

You do realize the older your car is, the harder it is to get laid, right? Not trolling, just saying some of us rely on having a flashy display of wealth in order to get our dicks wet.

I'm sure there are ways around this. The messy way I would imagine would be cutting power directly to the infotainment system and other vulnerable sites. That would mean driving around with a blank screen and no audio, but the plus side is you would have a newer car with a newer engine. Have you guys tried the new bi turbo v6's in practically everything these days? Those things are peppy as fuck, great on gas, and they sound good.

Old Porsche is the shit though. Porsche always works.

Western USA. If it's well kept, stock looking, and not straight-piped, they are pretty nice. Also very rare.

I don't know where you live but here we call women who chase money "gold-diggers" and they are basically whores. If you ask me, as long as your car is well kept, it doesn't matter what it is to the right people. Same goes for other aspects of your life. It doesn't sound like that's what you are interested in, though.

Any girl you can only pull by having a nice car or clothes is fucking worthless. You need to work on your game. And besides, a comfortable car you can drive AND fuck in is way better.

But yeah, if this kinda news gets out among the normies (and say the terrorist could control their SUV's to spread their religion of peace instead of doing themselves) with Trump resetting the CAFE and emission standards means manufactures won't have go full fly by wire to hit the ludicrous figures Obongo wanted. Provided people raise a stink about it and it isn't subverted by the letter organizations or (((Them))). Though honestly there should have ALWAYS been mechanical failsafe in place. I'm pretty sure that brakes are still mostly mechanical (ABS not withstanding which might prove an issue since it modulates pressure). At the very least a clutch should do the trick.

Your location explains a lot. I'm in western Europe and here, old mercs and BMW are everywhere, so sandniggers buy them because "muh brand". To be honest, it´s also because they are reliable as hell.

>impressing chicks with cars

The only girls you can land with any car that someone on /o/ would actually like/can afford are chicks who hate their Dads (turd gens, fox bodies, etc.) and/or hipster SJWs (Volvos, Mercedes W123, etc.). As for trucks, I have never seen a chick impressed with how big your truck is that wasn't also either fat or the town bicycle. More power to you if that's your thing, but I think there's better avenues to pursue if pussy is your goal. Even assuming you could afford a new luxury car, all that will get you is vapid cunts who could just as easily be impressed and fucked in the bathroom of your local club with the right douche-y clothing, an attitude that would make your mother ashamed, and enough mixed drinks to sedate an elephant.

You guys misunderstand. We're not fucking 12 ITT. Having a nice car isn't about picking up gold digging whores or RELYING on it to get laid.

It's a benefit to your advantage. You meet a nice girl from a nice family. You get to know each other. She sees you drive a new clean car. This will only bolster your chances.

>new clean car

Like I said, the clean part is the only thing that should matter. Only an idiot would take a new car as a sign of wealth or economic stability. Any dipshit above the poverty line with a half-decent credit score can go out and get a loan for a new car from whatever shady firm that will sue them into the ground a year later when they can't repay the loan.

If we're talking about getting a girl for long term as >>12672 seems to imply I think having a well maintained and clean older car would be an advantage. Some bitch constantly nagging me to spend insane amounts on a new car for her would kill me. I would want a girl who identifies and appreciates fiscal responsibility, or at the very least isn't completely caught up with status.

That's a tall order, and I'm not happy about that. It's funny, my buddies talk about how a chick's social media profile can tell a lot about her. If she has too many selfies, she's shallow and not good wife material.

My thoughts are, if she grew up in the west and even HAD social media, she's not ideal. I'm a bitter MGTOW though, so take it with a grain of salt. At any rate, I maintain that having a new clean car is fundamental to ASSISTING in the dating scene.

Surveillance is magic, to you? One should know about the surveillance technologies that have existed since the twentieth century began. Since the 60s, buggery of any and all electronics devices has been easier than can be.

There is precedent for hardware being bugged without a manufacturer's knowledge (unfortunately I can't remember the specific example I'm thinking of), but that's only with devices that are connected to begin with - phones, computers, modern infotainment systems, etc. Not things that aren't connected - like basic head units, ECUs, etc. If you are that worried about your non-connected device being used to track you, Faraday cage it.

Precisely. It's currently impossible to use modern technology and not be tracked in some way, and open source cell towers are never going to happen, so the only way to not be tracked is to essentially not participate in society at all. You have to fuck off into the woods and ditch all your tech.
