>insurance, taxes, gas that costs a shitton
>have to get something reliable, since I won't have the ability or the time to fix it
>parents that are forcing me to get something new or newish, with a good mpg, better if methane or LPG, even if I'm paying everything by myself or with little help from their part
it hurts /o/
I will have to settle with a simple Ford Fiesta, which is absolutely good, but I feel that I won't be really happy with her
and maybe I won't even get a Fiesta, but something shittier

>parents are forcing me to get something new
Literally why? Also, how can they "force" you to buy something? I doubt they're beating you up or anything since any kid whose parents are willing to buy them a new car must be spoiled as fuck. They can't legally kick you out until you're 18 and you should have a job by then. If that isn't the case than stop being a leech and pay for all your own shit, bitchboy. I've put up with a fucking crossover for FIVE YEARS as a poorfag high school/college student so you can certainly put up with a Fiesta for a couple years before saving up all your beer money for a Miata or RSX or whatever the fuck.
See if you can talk them up to a Fiesta ST through good behavior and good grades
>the ST stands for Supple Trim, Mom! It gets better gas mileage than a Honda Fit!
even your spoiled ass should be happy with that considering it has a turbo on it.

My main gripe is that I would be ok with something older and cheaper, but they are pushing for something that's actually reliable
**I've been going with an '89 Fiat Panda (34HP) that almost caught fire since the carburetor was leaking gasoline on the alternator, it has the front lights weak as fuck, the right indicator doesn't work since some weeks ago, costs me 25€/week in gasoline
My problem is that aside a new computer six months ago I don't have really big expenses, I don't go to clubs and thing like that, so I don't really know where to cut**

mate not only they arent reliable but parts are insanely more expensive when something breaks down
if you have enough cash to buy a brand new shitbox you can get a very clean early/mid '90s car and even shit like luxobarges for fucking 4 to 5 k (what luxobarge depends on where you are) that'll last you 500k km ez pz.
Plus, older cars have a charm newer ones certainly fucking lack.

whatever you do avoid the automatic in the fiesta and focus like the plauge. the powershit automatic has had a LOT of issues in general (rough shifts, questionable reliability … blah blah). as an aside, every fiesta owner I've talked to has not appreciated this, or the fact that this car is built in mexico and proves the point by having major breakdowns. transmission bricking itself, HVAC system not sealed proper from factory so it dies 18 months after purchase, that sort of shit.
if you have to get a kitchen appliance tier vehicle at least get a corolla or something that won't die when you drive it off of the lot

Depending on your market and budget there are many, many older and more reliable cars you can have than a new Fiesta. To name a few US examples:
>7th gen and earlier Civic (avoid auto transmissions) You shouldn't be driving an auto anyway unless you are a girl or a cuck.
>7th gen and earlier Corolla
>B15 and earlier Sentra
>3rd gen and earlier Accent
Try to pick something toward the end of a longer generation if your parents are really stubborn, it will help with persuasion methods stated below.
My two cents on the Fiesta, it's not very good compared to it's competitors. Go with a Yaris or a Versa if you have to buy brand new, but you shouldn't have to and your parents are stupid if they are "forcing" you to do so.
How old are you anyway? Why are you letting your parents push you around like that?
On convincing your parents to let you buy something older. Just show them horror stories and parts prices for new cars compared to older ones like what I listed above. Also explain the idea that the longer a model is on the market, the longer the manufacturer has to work out defects - increasing reliability. You should use >>10922 as a direct argument against the Fiesta specifically. If they have a shred of common sense they will concede and let you get an older, cheaper to maintain, and more reliable car.

Going to look for something you listed, but I just discovered that I can get a good discount (about 30%) doing some legal mumbo jumbo on a new car, so I can get a new LPG Fiesta for less than 7k€, for comparison a diesel Yaris is 9-10k
Thanks for the tips, I didn't know that 8/o/ could be so fast

Since you are euro you have a few more/different options. I think the Peugeot 206 is supposed to be a pretty decent shitbox. Other than that I don't know much about euro cars. You should be able to at least find some Civics and Corollas, though.
>I can get a new LPG Fiesta for less than 7k€
Doesn't matter how cheap it is if it shits itself after 18 months. I'm pretty sure the Fiesta is the same car for US and EU markets now, but we have an ST with 5 doors instead of 3 so maybe more than that is different on the euro version. I doubt it though. Another euro anon can help you more than I.
The bit about more expensive parts still holds for the (new) Fiesta and any other new car. You should still go with something older, even if it's an older Fiesta.

In the OP you implied that you didn't want the Fiesta, so we are all giving you arguments against it. Now you sound like you want the Fiesta. The 206 is a shitbox, it sold in large numbers primarily because it was cheap both to purchase and insure. It rusts easily and like all french cars is extremely prone to develop electrical faults. The steering arms are also rather weak.
It should go without saying but none of the cars you see on the WRC circuit have a damn thing in common with their roadgoing counterparts, hasn't been the case for well over thirty years if not more.

Back when rally cars at least had the chassis in common with their commercially produced cousins this is something that held true. One thing to keep in mind is that the high speed durifto around bendy dirt roads you see in rallying strongly favors cars with short wheelbases and low total vehicle weight, both factors that have a positive impact in general on a car's driving dynamics.

My wife and I decided to rent a car on Sicily island for a trip from Palermo to Catania. Dates of a trip are from July 21 to July 27. We are going to Sicily for the first time, and we also https://itunes.apple.com/app/cars-scanner/id1008401287 rent a car for the first time. I looked through a lot of information both on this forum and on others, but I didn’t really find the answers to our questions. I looked for a car in a mobile application. I cannot understand what is the difference of insurance included in the rental price 'Coverage in case of theft (TP)' and the amount of 1600 euro (theft) … the remaining two amounts of 1100 and 1200 euro I can justify somehow, but I’m confused about the theft.

VW has the potential to make the perfect car. They already have the e-Golf, which is a electric Golf.
Now imagine them cutting open a Golf Variant. Shoving all the e-Golf guts inside it with even more battery capacity because larger car. And releasing it to the public for reasonable price under 30k.
That would be the electric car for the masses and sell like hotcakes. I want one just thinking about it. No fancy-schmancy Teslas or weird jap shit, just German simplicity, cheap cloth interiors and electric power.
Good modern car? Probably Opel Movano for a van, Seat Ibiza for a car.
