>I don't know what I expected when I reached the end of the Void.
>I've read only a few articles about the edge of the void.
>Had a talk with Death and even she shivers when she recalls the site of it.
>Me being my brave and curious self, I went on an adventure.
>The directions to get there were simple: Keep walking in one direction and you'll get there.
>"When you start seeing a field of cracked pillars and black smoke coming from them, congratulations you're at The End. Turn around and pray you don't run into an empty vessel. If you're at the steps of what looks to be a temple… It was nice knowing you."
>I wave away Death's warning. She likes being over dramatic.
>One week this journey took.
>It was already scary enough going out of the city limits.
>The Forests and barren land was unsettling but relatively harmless.
>Then I noticed that the land itself had missing patches.
>My reception for some reason got better.
>I kept walking.
>When the smokey pillars got into my field of vision, I felt my chest get heavy.
>It was daunting to realize I'm approaching the edge of The Void.
>And so I kept walking.
>I was expecting to hear cryptic whispers as I kept going, even when the temple was in my sight, there was nothing to hear.
>Complete silence.
>Only my footsteps and the movement of my gear was heard.
>I stopped at the double doors to catch my breath, then looked up at the towering building.
>After a bit of looking, I couldn't explain how bizarre it was to see 'reality' have missing patches, yet this temple was perfectly intact.
>It seemed as though it wasn't touched by time.
>The cracked pillars were expected, but not this. I pictured the temple to have a door missing, something that looked like it was corroded by The Void's anti-reality matter.
>Instead, it was a temple that sat on the edge of a cliff and whatever below was barely illuminated.
>My phone buzzed, it only took a second to check it.
>Saw a number I didn't recognize and only three words: Well, come in.
>I pushed the left door in, hearing the slight creak of the hinges.
>The rush of cold air in this place had my skin goose bumps forming in the matter of seconds.
>As I walked forward, I was met by three nude feminine bodies that only made my skin crawl.
>Without a doubt their skin lacked any color, as they stepped toward me, their movement was that of puppets.
>Stumbling as if drunk, little to no sashay in their walk. Sloppy.
>To hear their bare feet plop against the grey-stoned floor made me cringe.
>Finally, they stopped in front of me, and I got a good look at them.
>Their skin just as cracked as the pillars outside and predictibly smoke rose out of those openings.
"Well, that's not creepy at all."
>"You're not afraid?" The one in the middle said, opening her mouth with no lip movement that lined up with the words, stepping forward to offer a hand.
"Do you intend to harm me?"
>"Depends. Why brings you here?"
"Curiosity, who are you?"
>"I'm the Holder of the Empty Vessels." The other two gesture with their hands as if to say "behold me"
"Nice title, but what's your name?"
>"Miss Abyss, but you can call me Abbie."
>The other two brought it upon themselves to surround me as the center one continued to talk.
>"You must be tired, why don't you join me?" She stretches out her hand a little more, urging me to take her hand.
>"I don't get many visitors, and the ones that do visit run out the door when they see my bodies." She says offering me a drink as I sit on the kitchen island comfortably.
"Well, the paling meat suits with the openings is quite the scary aesthetic."
>"I have to make the cracks, the smoke is how I see."
"Wait a minute…"
>I notice the vessel I'm talking to makes an attempt to smile.
"So all those pillars are-"
>"My eyes, yes."
"What is your purpose?"
>"Collect bodies that are no longer needed."
"What do you use them for?"
>A chuckle leaves her mouth as you notice her looking up and down your body.
>"Take a guess." She says, approaching the kitchen island, trapping me where I sit, looking up at me.
"Goddamnit, I haven't been in this omnionous temple for more than twenty minutes and you're already asking for dick."
>"What's the matter? Afraid you can't handle me?"
>"Don't tease," says another one coming from the left.
"Ugh, I'm not leaving am I?"
