On firefox you need to go into about:config and disable keyword.enabled , which is stupid. I think you need to do something on chrome too.

I thought that list was kind of bad so I spent a few hours making my own which is much better imo. It doesn't have many porn advertising hosts and it doesn't have many gay sites (you couldn't pay me to look through those). Let me know if I missed anything.

I made two versions, one for hosts.txt and one for ublock origin. To use the ublock version, go into ublock's settings, go to the "My filters" tab, click "Import and append", and click the file. I don't recommend using this one if you have the option, since it's very easy to bypass.

I know how to edit the hosts files, however I would like not to pollute it since I already keep some personal stuff there.

Is there a way to add those somewhere else?

Or alternatively, what about a browser plugin, I can imagine there must be something there already, and may be better from cross computer setups.

You done need to replace the file, just press enter a few times to separate them from what you already have and paste it.
