50 Cent stole in typical nigger fashion most of what was going to be Dre's third album as his debut. That's why it was significantly better than his following albums. In hindsight, Dre would have been better off keeping the '03 version of Detox to himself for a 2004/2005 release, releasing 50's cancelled 2000 debut album with a couple updates and let him attain his fame naturally. Might even still be signed to Interscope as a B-Tier performer.

The more I think about it, the more I believe Eminem should've died in 2007. Sure, we wouldn't have got Relapse which I maintain was his best, most consistent album post-hiatus but we might have heard some decent shit that remains tightly locked in a vault to this day. Recovery was awful apart from the re-recorded Relapse 2 tracks, that I'll finally admit. MMLP2 was a middling mid-step that should have been optimized into a single album with most of the second disc's tracks on the "first". Fuck the Revival, worst album of his career bar none. There are maybe 10 - 20 tracks he's made since 2009 that have made him narrowly avoiding death multiple times worth it.
