Looking for mainly instrumental math/prog/experimental rock of the more upbeat and "fun" variety like stuff that Mike Osso's done (pic related) and would very much appreciate if some kind anons here could help point me in that direction with suggestions as well as discussing this particular kind of music. The more complex and/or relaxing, the better, and vocals are fine as long as they're relatively pleasant to listen to. Since this request is pretty specific and is kind of hard for me to explain with words, here's a list of everything he's done solo as well as part of groups that I can find so you can actually hear examples of the kind of music I'm searching for:

>Bear Bones: https://mikeossomusic.bandcamp.com/

>Bulldada: https://bulldada.bandcamp.com/

>Dusk Warrior: https://duskwarrior.bandcamp.com/

>Father Figure: https://fatherfigure.bandcamp.com/music

>Shithouse Records: https://soundcloud.com/shithouserecords/tracks

I was able to find an indie UK record label called Blood and Biscuits (https://bloodandbiscuits.bandcamp.com/) which has some releases that are pretty similar to what Osso's done so far, most notably Strobes' Brokespeak, and it's definitely in the ballpark of what I'm looking for, but I only found it because that album's the only thing he's bought there and is also the only artist he's following so I really have no idea where else to go with this since, as I said earlier, it's a pretty specific area.

A couple more genres that seem to be pretty heavily mixed in with the ones I already mentioned are jazz and psychedelic rock, if that helps any

Do you listen to Zappa? He's got fun most instrumental rock, and was a very serious composer to boot

I don't, no, although I've been meaning to get into him for a while now but just haven't gotten around to it yet. That's pretty good stuff though, I'll have to listen to more of it. Thanks for the suggestion, anon. :)

OP again, happened to find a solo single by Dave Grohl called "Play" after only hearing about it within the last few days and holy shit, while this sounds more like an extremely long Foo Fighters instrumental outtake than anything else, it's still damn good and is pretty prog imo. Simply hearing the backstory on how he made it would be enough from the Stanley Kubrick level of perfectionism he has and the way he went about recording the individual instruments but God, this is a great song. Once again, a bit too alternative compared to everything that's been posted so far but it's still close enough and is awesome to begin with so fuck it, I'll put it here anyway.
