What have you heard as of late that really blew you away?

I've been trying to go through anything Mike Patton's been involved in and started with Mr. Bungle and wow, I really don't even know how to describe that band. I love the constant genre-cycling and mostly immature, surreal lyrics on the self-titled debut. Disco volante is kind of hard to listen to at times and the mixing/mastering is a little weird but I still admire the amount of experimentation on that one and it's a solid album overall. California is great and I love the concept they went for on it, and even though it's the most accessible of all three albums, that's by no means a downside since the quality doesn't suffer on it whatsoever.

I found Daughters on the front page of Bandcamp in an article about their newest album while looking for something else and at first, I wasn't too impressed, but after re-listening to their last three releases (couldn't do anything before Hell Songs, as I'm not a grindcore fan unless it's parody or purposely funny like Anal Cunt or Kirk Fogg's African Adventure), my opinion has really changed. Hell Songs is pretty decent, although the production leaves a bit to be desired. The 2010 self-titled release is fantastic and I love the lyrical style, especially on "The Hit," which I've listened to more times than I care to admit in the relatively short time since I first heard it. You Won't Get What You Want is one of the darkest, most Poe-like albums I've ever heard and I'd go so far as to even call it scary, yet nothing on it comes off as edgy or whiny and it's more than solid math/noise rock.

Kaleidoscope Dreams by Black Magick SS

The Album cover instantly catches your eye and you have to listen to it.

The First song which is giving the Album it's name is a great starter and makes you want more.

Check it out Anons.

Probably the most vile shit I've ever heard, in the best way possible. Great musicianship keeps it from devolving into a flat plane of horror noise like Gnaw Their Tongues's solo work.
