Is krautrock the most misused word in music today?

I keep coming across this word when people describe psychedelic/space/prog rock.

My definition of krautrock: progrock from the seventies made in Germany with a high emphasis on improvisation, which separated it from the more conceptual anglo progrock like Pink Floyd and Genesis made.

Bands like Stereolab (and the bands that copied the Stereolab sound like Caverns of Anti-Matter) are labeled as krautrock while they don't sound anything like the music from the seventies that was made in Germany. It really tickles my autism.

>stereolab

>krautrock

what was meant with this?

I can't believe this is a real thing. Not that I care much, but hot damn is it stupid.

For some reason I tended to see krautrock fanatics insufferable with their idea of superiority, always masturbating to can.

Though it could be that I've never dug deep into the genre, only got to Neu, Can and Klaus Schulze. I get mad at can since their most prominent element is the percussion, while the rest of the instrumentation sounds dull, with some cases of the bass and guitars getting a focus from time to time. Which sound good, but they're just from time to time. And the singer sounds whiny and puts me off.

But at least now he's dead though. Paperhouse was nice and Monster movie loses it's charm after 3 listens. Don't get why halleluwah is so overrated though. Dough dough dough.

Amon Duul II's first album is the best of the genre.

I always considered Les Rallizes Dénudés a band that sounds similar to krautrock

nothing good ever came out of germany, except the idea that we should hate marycucks.

the anglos have always been better than the continent at rock and music.

Probably because rock'n'roll and pop culture is America's only true autochtonous culture

Who? If you talk about the singer, he's alive and well, the same can't be said about the rest of the original Can lineup.
