It seems so arbitrary and out-of-place to me in that context. Yeah, emotions, obviously. But (a) it's a song chosen by them and they probably have shit taste so half the room won't feel the intended emotion, and (b) if anyone doesn't like it they have to sit through it and now they feel uncomfortable and distracted from the reason they turned up and (c) if any dumb fucks like me who overanalyze stupid bullshit go to their funeral they're going to think the dead person is stupid and just does things because everyone else does them.
