Some of it was actually pretty good, like the 3D edit stuff (particularly the BEAST segment) did get a laugh out of me. Some of the lines are decent, the 90's looking CGI is appealing, but it is somewhat lacking I will admit. I guess he's being "ironic" with it. It's probably a lot more fun to make than watch (maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's a nightmare behind the scenes, seems just as likely to be honest) I'm just rambling stream of consciousness typing my thoughts as they happen this isn't a well structured or thought out post and should not be taken as such.

Still going to watch TGW though.

Sam, get hunt for an editor. Find a young snappy guy who doesnt have to pay rent to edit your shit, and keep that guy on payroll. Give him good credits. Do whatever you can to FIND AN EDITOR.

Forget the stylized shit, you dont have time for that. Get back to basics of being a really good comedian, and get an editor. You keep trying to help people out and you keep doing these ensembles trying to recreate a collective creative force.

Get back to You and your experience. You're getting there, but I think you seriously need to forget about these "collab" style things and back off on the podcasts unless you're going to do it with structure.

There is no next phase, Charls is out, Nick isn't creatively involved at all apart from his cameos and Sam has alienated all but like one or two behind the scenes guys.

Sam probably fits the bill of being a narcissist but I don't think he can honestly be categorized as a sociopath. Especially when it comes to being callous and unempathetic, subtle things in his videos over the years demonstrate that he's ultimately not a harmful or malign person (like when he felt the urge to step in and stop a fight in Williamsburg street fashion, or when he discourages his buddies from kicking a dead shark on the beach in New Jersey, among other little things). Maybe he sees women in a negative light, but that's not something I'd ever blame someone for.

I think Sam's headed somewhere. I think he understands himself, though he still makes too many excuses for things. I heard the Don Jolly tape, and while no, I don't think Sam would be a "cool person" to work for (people who use the word "cool" all the time usually like cool things and have good taste, but aren't necessarily that "cool") besides his tone, I really heard nothing in that tape that caused me to think Sam was unhinged.

You don't just go around talking about people behind their back if you have a problem, especially on this shoestring budget ordeals. Creatives are notoriously difficult to get to actually show up and perform. The one's that try to collaborate on stuff often think their work is GREAT, and the ones that say "to hell with collaboration" are those who are too self critical. That's just how it is.

The Theater of the Air was terrible. It could have worked ok, but the energy was all off, and the energy on set influences the energy on screen. Sam was way too wired on that production. Toned down, it would have been much funnier.

But it was a lame idea from the start.
