I don't understand how people don't see the vampirism behind this. It's sad to see someone who has influenced my own comedy so much have to use shitty trends to continue surviving making art, but I guess that's what happens when you aren't disciplined enough to turn a craft into a real art. You just end up sliding back on the cushion of our vapid, wasteful culture. All I can hope for is that the writers (screenplay writers too) of today's world stay protected. If you are a writer in any field, reply to this thread. You are the soldiers of today's culture and perhaps we can come up with something to show the people why we need better narratives

i dont see what the issue is here.
Sam posts incredible interpretations of 80s-early2000s art in video games, fashion, car design trends, CD album cover art, pop music both high and low, the list goes on. No irony. one of the things I like most about Sam is how he interperets and brings up that era (whchi is also my formative era since i'm his age). honestly the guy is a genius at it, i am constantly reminded of that MIDI-format, RGB Philips jacks, VHS glossed epoch whenever i view his shit. he is always bringing that up. he is a cultural ambassador of that era as far as I'm concerned, as a dipshit adult his age who is susceptible to nostalgia triggers. but it's never dishonest or manipulative - he is just mining that treasure trove because childhood inspiraiton. and that is infections. it infects me as someone who experienced it, and it affets zoomers who are trying to make sense of the past in their own way by looking at insightful and interesting stuff from people who lived and understood their era.. That's Sam. that's what I love about him most in 2019.

yeah it's cool man, I'm not trying to be a downer but I'm sometimes confused as to how he goes about organizing things. Like for instance, why not continue to make new content intstead of clinging to kickstarter tv. Kickstarter has changed a lot in the last couple of years and it's definitely a harder group of projects to throw crtitique at without looking p scummy
