In an age of Jewish voices, overly sexualized media, and general deviation from traditional western values; what manifests true happiness for men like us?

>what manifests true happiness for men like us?

Doing the opposite of what Sam Hyde does.

Kierkegaard

A leap of faith seems pretty hollow to me

Kierkegaard talked about a lot more than a leap of faith. He talked about the phantom of the public and media after asking a large satirical paper to attack him, used psuedonyms in an interesting dialectical way initially anonymously, turned Hegels dialectics internally with humorous but substantial passages, the list goes on.

I'll look more into his work but he seems to be cited as a preliminary to existentialism which gives little to no insight regarding life's meaning. Any specific works of his you'd recommend?

Sickness Unto Death is nice

I don't know why you would think existentialism gives no insight regarding life's meaning when that is what it focuses on. Kierkegaard isn't preliminary either, he is recognized as a beginning and the argument for preliminaries is behind him. It doesn't matter if you're into Christianity or not Kierkegaard uses his psuedonyms arguing from different philosophical places and didn't even consider himself a Christian until later in his life. Point is if you actually put some footwork into Kierkegaard you're going to realize this guy laid out a path that is hysterical in terms of philosophy, his goal wasn't to argue anyone into Christianity by some doctrine, theology, or philosophical framework, but is him building up a collection as he goes with the hardest hitters from various viewpoints all arguing with eachother in his authorship. He doesn't ask you to agree with any one thing, he employs indirect communication as is a literary seducer.

I'll definitely give him a read but I guess I was getting at how you think his work answers the question in OP. Also I pulled the notion that his main argument was to subscribe to Christianity from a brief summary of his philosophies.

>Jewish Voices

>Overly Sexualized media

>Deviation from western Values

The last part is weird on your part as you'd dismiss a danish author from the 19th century because he would have a Christian solution at the ripe old age of 40. During this time period the West was declaring God is dead and a few writers actually recognized some faults that lead to this statement.

Are you trying to say it's against western values to refute Christianity? I'm not trying to relate Kierkegaard to politics but to modern personal philosophy, which for me is free of any commitment to a religion. Here's the video I watched on Kierkegaard if you're wanting to know what I know about him:

This could be considered a troll as Kierkegaard can't be a 7min philosophy, he'd spit on that.

Honestly just read The Present Age its like 130 pages. And yes it was against western values to refute christianity for a number of points, and it was against christian values and western society to refute the refute of christian values as kierkegaard was Lutheran.

Yeah those guys' videos are generally bullshit too but hey. I'll definitely read up on him, sorry for being confusing/ignorant, I appreciate the recs.

We live in the future, but in a forgotten past. Lost by time, given freedoms, use your freedoms!

 No.12054

>>12052

Yeah I'd just recommend The Present Age at first followed by Sickness Unto Death. The Present Age is just all about Kierkegaard ripping the 'public' a new asshole shortly after he asked a local newspaper to attack him. He does a phenomenal job that will last for centuries.
