Hi. I like art. I've never really drawn. Wanted to get into it, was told while growing up that it's for faggots who won't make money even though I never wanted to make money. So, ignoring that sob story, I'm going to dump my shit here because it isn't important enough to be thrown in the regular drawthread.
Do the critique thing, ignore the thread, whatever. I'm not going to cry if I'm given critique. I'm a beginner and I'm only going to learn from my mistakes if someone else can point them out.
I'm currently on the first two plates of Drawing the head & hands by Loomis, but I'm also going to start going through "Drawing the head and figure" by Jack Hamm probably tomorrow-ish at the same time, maybe.
I'm intending on a simple-ish schedule for now, I have a few hours a day to blow on this anyway now that college is over until September. It's:
- 5-10 minutes of warmup (ellipses, lines, shapes, etc.)
- 20-40 minutes of gesture-y things (30 sec, 1 min, 2 min, 5 min)
- 20-60 minutes long-pose from I guess an image
- 60 minutes of studying from a book (30/30 on the Loomis/Hamm ones)
I also intend on getting at least an hour personal drawing.
I have no idea if this is too much or if I'll be able to do it but whatever. The worst that'll happen is that I'll still end up drawing but not get as much done. Oh no, what a nightmare.
