Hey /lit/

First time poster, haven't bothered to check the catalog and too buzzed on beer to care. Do any of you like Jack London's works? If so, why? And if not, how come. As a personal individual, I don't really like the guy simply because he wasn't very loyal when it came to his wife… but overall, I always wonder what was going through his head. I also found his writing style to be exquisite, especially the way he describes the winter wastelands in his books, or the treacherous seas. Are there any other books you could recommend?

So far i've only read white fang, call of the wild, something something about the dude who gets marooned with a drunk captain and the love of his life, and another one about boxing but I got too drunk and lost the title.

on a side note, any of you guys know run baby run by nicky cruz? I lost that book and i've been looking for my copy for more than 10 years now

My favorite London story is To Build a Fire. It's a comfy read and the prime example of his typical wilderness survival kind of stories. It also once again features his underlying theme of nature giving harsh lessons to the careless or unexperienced.

From what you wrote in the OP I think you might like it.

I've never liked wilderness novels. Those and westerns. People's interactions have always been more interesting to me.
