Take a look at this image.
When I see it, I am overcome with a feeling of dread and anxiety. There's something about the unpainted context of this image, of knowing that there is a sexual inflection to it yet being totally unable to prove it, this feeling of absurd impossibility that is still somehow within reach, that taunts me.
It truly is something incredible, that without context this image still makes sense—even if it IS disgusting sense.
Imagine if this image were to be projected to a class full of high school students. Most would imagine it's just a silly cartoon girl making a funny face drawn by an eccentric artist, or perhaps a sleepy character just waking up. Less that five per cent of that classroom would know the real intention of that artist's creation.
Any books for this feel?
