Ah yes the China will never make it crowd shows up. You being the same people that have predicted the USA is going to financially implode for the past 60 years and always been wrong.

> You being the same people that have predicted the USA is going to financially implode for the past 60 years and always been wrong

Nobody disproved the arguments why it will happen and nobody gave approximate dates of it happening. How can we be wrong when you have had no other answer but "hasn't happened yet"?

 No.89907

>won't debtors simply go into infinite debt

They'll print for as long as they can. Why can't Zimbabwe and Venezuela just print more? Because they've already hit the rock bottom. China is getting there at its own awkward pace with how volatile its "growth" has been.

It certainly hasn't stopped them from trying.

As anons above said, we don't purport to give exact predictions. We're not playing Friedmans game of following the theories that are proven correct by history. If we did, we'd still be Austrians, though, because as far as our predictions do go, they are pretty good. We predicted both the housing crisis and the crash of the Lira, to name two recent examples. Basically, we beat mainstream economists at a game we aren't even playing.

> We predicted both the housing crisis

Yeah man you predict the economy is going to collapse in the new few years for the last 60 years and you are going to be right eventually.

The earth is going to be destroyed tomorrow. I predict this every day though. Won't I be a genius for predicting the exact day the earth is destroyed?

 No.89928

>>89927

>in the new few years

Nobody has given approximations of any kind. Schiff is guilty of that and he's not an economist.

>The earth is going to be destroyed tomorrow. I predict this every day though. Won't I be a genius for predicting the exact day the earth is destroyed?

You're way far off the ballpark with this one.

1, None of the Austrians have given approximate dates. You can stop trying to make it easy on yourself. None of us are going to continue with a "prove me wrong" refutation ether.

2. You'd have something if you had clear theory on what damages the Earth and should be avoided. It wouldn't make you a genius, but it would still be in every way preferable over any action that is clearly known to cause such damage and every policy toward it.

3. Being smug doesn't make you look any less lazy or dumb.

 No.89929

Whats lazy and dumb is you Austrian retards making smug claims about bullshit that never pans out.

>>89927

As said by others you've sort of missed the mark completely. Sure, being in the US or most countries of the world today and saying that the economy will crash soon is a fairly mundane statement and by all means, it will most likely render itself correct as time goes on. However it's the understanding as to WHY it happens makes Austrian theory a viable one in the field of economics. It's one thing to say that a depression or a crash is coming within the economy, it's another thing to understand WHY the crash is happening or why it will soon come.

With the understanding of economics one can look at the China situation and say that this is not an economic state of affairs that can be maintained for very long, there is a crash coming soon. As I said before, we can't tell you exactly when, but we can tell you that should the continuing actions by the state (such as the massive flooding of credit and the inevitable bubble that came from it) and various other institutions continue, there will ultimately be a crash. It's like if I told you that with hyperinflation a chicken sandwich will go from $2.00 to $10.00 at some point. Sure I don't have an exact date as to when it will happen, but with economic methodology it becomes obvious that my conclusion or rather my thesis is correct.

>>89929

>Whats lazy and dumb is you Austrian retards making smug claims about bullshit that never pans out.

I dunno if you're a butthurt chinaboo or what but a.) this isn't really an argument and b.) it's also just plain wrong.

 No.89931

>>89929

>making smug claims

More like desperate pleas. We've never had the luxury to get away with smugness like Keynesians do.

 No.89933

>>89927

One crucial thing you forget is that the Austrians consistently get the how and the why correct and not just the when–even Peter Schiff, who isn't an economist and was making more general claims than the other Austrians, saw what was happening with housing and correctly predicted that mortgages would be the root of the financial crisis.

>>89929

>smug claims

>about the economy going down the shitter and people losing jobs

I couldn't afford to be that misanthropic even if I wanted to, I leave that to you and the champagne socialists.

>>89953

>There were no arguments involved in the making of this thread.

The making of this thread? regardless, there was an argument and it revolved around the merit of Austrian school's predictions of crashes, and what it is that allows us to see upcoming crashes.

>Wow, if I predict a crash for the next 60 years I'm bound to be right

>Well sure, but one has to understand why these crashes happen and the Austrian school provides an understanding as to why it happens and why it can potentially stopped should we take a different course of action

>LOL your just predicting with vague useless predictions and you ending up being right is totally coincidence

To echo another poster, it's like if I tell some guy in the woods that he's going to die if he keeps poking a bear with a stick and then him in turn saying "Yeah, well you can keep making vague predictions all day, just don't act like you were right when it happens or that your predictions have any sort of validity". It's the thought process of someone who must have some mild form of down syndrome or at the very least someone who lacks the capacity for processing fairly simple and rudimentary information.

You guys should know that American news on the chinese economy are almost certainly meant to encourage capital flight from the country. It's pure scare tactics. How many times have American news said: "The Chinese economy is going to crash aaaaany day now! Something something housing bubble".

Meanwhile the chinese economy has been the most stable in the world, continuing their growth even while the rest of the world is in recession.

 No.89968

Yeah except in reality the bear gives you super powers (non austrian economics won out in literally the entire world) and the man does not die from being mauled by it but rather when he steps in a ditch.

It should be clear by now to everyone that you're a big fan of building straw men, dubsman. You claim people are saying something they're not, then you claim that that thing is wrong in order to portray those people as wrong. It's classical.

 No.90187

They are cultists. They make you follow strict guidelines. In order to belong and if you want to have sex with animals they require you go through hazing rituals, such as buying property and having your own animals. Its called "Buy your way into heaven."

They don't care if you actually do love animals and want to have sex with them, they make you prove it by forcing you to slave for it. They are sick twisted people. Like how some cults force you to have sex with old religious leaders in order to prove your worth to god. They are abusive cunts.

DO NOT do as they tell you no matter how easy their request seems. If you follow their orders once you are playing into their hands they know youll do it again. If they won't let you have sex with no strings attached then they are cultists using the sex to snag you and ruin your life.

 No.90214

>>90178

Yeah strawmen right. Guess you actually never claim anything. Your ideology has no predictive power what so ever and is totally useless.

I'm still waiting for these examples of predictions made by Austrians. None have been provided in this thread so far.
