Are there any good books or articles I should read on real life examples of polycentric legal systems, such as the one in the Icelandic Commonwealth or Brehon Law? I recently read The Not So Wild, Wild West but I want more information on these kinds of systems of conflict resolution that are in accordance with a libertarian society.

I haven't heard of any books on the IRL examples from history, the closest I have come across for that is references by David Friedman (son of Milton Friedman, and a self-described anarcho-capitalist). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SINdTmy29cE

Other sources might be the work of Stefan Molyneux (free books on his freedomain.com site), Bob Murphy (Chaos Theory), "The Machinery of Freedom", and the former work of Ryan Faulk from his "Fringe Elements" youtube channel (back when he was ancap)

Here is the draft page of Friedman's upcoming book based on on one of his law school seminars, probably the best you will get in book format AFAIK:

There's a sort of proof of concept in English history:

how was brehon law polycentric?

 No.88537

>>88496

If a Brehon could not help two parties in a dispute to come to an agreement, they could find another Brehon to help arbitrate their dispute. Additionally rulings were not enforced through compulsion but rather through sureties and social standing.
