Reminds me of a study done by the French naturalist, Jean Henri Fabre on the processionary caterpillar, so named, because they would always walk in a line, following the one in front of them. One day, he put their favorite food in the middle of a round plate, and placed the caterpillars on the edge of the round plate, one after another, so they would form a circle(the first would follow the last). They walked and walked, around the edge, for six nights and seven days, without stopping. After the seven days, they collapsed, from exhaustion and hunger, with an abundance of their favorite food, just a few inches away from them, and that is because they mistook work for productivity, basically they were keynesians.
