Eastern socialism is not the same as western socialism. They don't give a shit about what we would call welfare and gibs. That government housing is not subsidized housing. Its nice shit that you have to get loans for. They have no minimum wage, almost no free anything. There is government mandated savings for health care and retirement. That and they are very very industrious. Chinese communism and Singapore socialism look nothing policy wise like western commie policies.

Here its all free education, unemployment benefits, free healthcare, muh homeless people, muh minorities, etc. You pay for shit there.

That being said it is still fairly anti market at the sovereign level for both China, and Singapore. Treating the government like a corporation is really the logical extension of capitalism. If this counts as socialism I endorse it as a capitalist.

Singapore practices a sort of government ownership the likes of which the Qatar royalty, early 2000s Hong Kong, and Liechtenstein royalty practice. That is, you're generally free to engage in the market however you want outside of a handful of specific areas. There is no such thing as a government that doesn't own anything/have some restrictions. Going back to anon's statement: >>86811

>Singapore is the followup to Chile in proving that free markets are a necessary but not sufficient requisite for liberty.

Yes it's government owned and no one is denying that, what he was saying was that if you can, economically, live pretty freely in that country and you will do well there if you're good at what you do. On the "world capitalism" dial if you will, it has a very high economic freedom index and leans much farther towards the "100% capitalism" side of the dial, than say Venezuela as a counter-example. To claim otherwise is disingenuous at best and one should provide examples of other countries that are "more capitalist" with examples of how they are more capitalist if they want to make this argument that Singapore isn't a good example of what anon was discussing.

Negative proofs only work when working from a positive base or a base of zero. When most of the world is a -80 on the "capitalist dial" with most European countries & the USA being -40, places like Mexico being -50 as a counterexample, being a -15 on the same dial is objectively more of a free market.

China is China. At the national and city levels they fuck up big time, but at the local levels other than the corruption they're not doing very much that could be considered horrible compared to other governments (other than being filthy fucking chinks). Whether they were government-run or market-run, you would still have that smog because you have 1.4 billion people, most of which still live in third world conditions, trying to get to a stage where they can live comfortably. In the winter time everyone in China needs electricity, and they don't have enough nuclear power yet so they have to rely on coal. They're between two mountain ranges so it only adds to the pollution. We have a similar problem in America, it's just never really talked about. The Salt Lake Valley is cornered on three sides by mountains, which cause all the smog from the food manufacturing plants to collect inside the valley (since the only airflow into the valley is from the direction without mountains, and that direction just blows air into the valley).

Small countries tend to be well-run compared to large countries because all the issues are local issues. The same thing is true of corporations. Things just work better/more efficiently on a smaller scale. Period.

>>87003

Small being a subjective word aside you autistic piece of shit, the USA, China, Australia, Canada, etc. are not well-run. Your blanket statement is shit. It's like saying "all these lemons grown without pesticides are grade two lemons, so obviously the grade one lemons grown with pesticides on the factory farm are all superior in taste and quality to these grade two lemons that were dumped on grounds of size/shape." I was talking about how a politician in charge of eight million people halfway across the fucking country is going to have far less efficiency making a decision than the mayor of a town of 500 people because the politician has to balance the requests of those eight million people over a large area while he doesn't even fucking live near 95% of those people. You're insisting on comparing shit holes, so let's compare shit holes.

Oh look, small countries like Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait have higher human development indexes than other countries in the same region like Yemen and Iraq! Oh look, countries like Ghana and Gabon which are mostly centered on a few coastal cities have a higher human development index than their comparable colossal giants nearby like Mali and the DRC. Oh look, countries like Chile and Argentina which are 99% empty fucking desert with most of their population being focused on a couple small areas within said fucking desert have better development than Peru or Brazil! Even in the small countries with low human development indexes in Niggersville- the continent, I can almost guarantee you that the vast majority of them that aren't experiencing some brand of civil war or socialism are doing better off because they can get shit done when your constituents are that fucking close by, or that if they aren't doing well, their government is probably as far fucking away as possible from the population at large or is basically a dictatorship of one form or another. Don't try to act smug by misrepresenting what I said you imbred fucking swine.

Neither God nor Time are causally inert. If God exists it's a person, and one that people believe they can talk to, perform miracles, etc. If time exists it's a dimension, and causes a fuckload of things. The meme is shit because it uses the word 'abstract' without understanding that it's an actual philosophical term that applies to neither of those things.

If you want "abstract" objects try "the set of all prime numbers greater than 13", "Charles Dickens' David Copperfield", etc. These things (if they can be said to exist at all) are totally causally inert.
