Because it's a free market. And in any free market, transactions are done for mutual benefit, otherwise neither party would initiate the transaction. If however, you introduce violence, especially through corporatist regulations, one party benefits, while the other does not. This lack of coercion will incentivise competition in all industries, leading to high-quality goods and services.

It's actually realism warranted on economic grounds. IP is just a euphemism for protectionist monopolies lobbied for by big business. If IP was consistent with natural rights, then it should also apply to recipes, furniture design, architecture, fashion, tailorship, and every other creative industry. But I'm sure you wouldn't be in favor of that, would you? Rule of thumb, if you don't think a law would work for one industry, don't advocate that same law for other industries.
