were there any southern (or otherwise classical/ancient) economists that supported slavery and knew their shit?

what's some good literature on this.

I'm not a neoreactionary or anything, but I just want to understand why people justified it pre-industrialization

 No.63118

I'm not sure about economists that knew their shit and supported slavery, but the institution of slavery is what allowed The South to flourish and give The North the ability to focus on production as much as they did. The cotton industry is responsible for a lot of America's initial economic booms.

Allegedly PDF related gets into it. It's only the first 57 pages of the book, but you can buy the whole book for around $20 on Amazon. See: https://www.docdroid.net/xo3k/the-half-has-never-been-told.pdf

I'd post the pdf but it's too big and I dislike reducing the quality of PDFs for the sake of posting them.

Not as far as I know, the South wasn't exactly known for it's intellectual prowess and Southern kids would often be sent off abroad to England if they were to actually go to school. There were plenty of people who tried justifying slavery but not a lot of economists.
