Would the Space Corps be like the ODST or just guards for satellites? Are we even going to get anything or is this just an excuse to give more money to Israel? Its not like they'll be useful against terrorists so it'll just be waiting for WW3 or worse.

Also Halo could have been so much more if it were set in the insurrection era and getting to kill space communists.

I very much doubt that we will see anything like an ODST come out of the program in our lifetime.

I don't expect much out of it besides an astronaut with a handgun an an extra patch for the foreseeable future.

If and when it reaches the point of actually doing anything, I expect it to operate more like the navy than anything.

Pretty sure they'll post regular soldiers on spaceships like marines were posted on ships in the 18th century. Space corps would fly the ships and other branches would fight from them.

>Would the Space Corps be like the ODST or just guards for satellites?

Neither, it will be like early day warplanes and submarines. You will have people with the most advanced technology available to them, trying to learn to fight a new type of war nobody has really practical knowledge about.

They will do shit we now think is impossible to do, they will do shit that only works at the beginning when every side is inexperienced and once they gathered enough data some bunch of liberal eggheads will suck out all the fun out of space war by making it more efficient and safe.

It's probably just NASA part 2 more secret satellites-n-shiieeet edition. Until someone makes the anti-satellite missle for the f-15 more cost efficient and we start seeing the need for longer range AA. either ww3 or this will force us to upgrade our AA

Yeah, a break from /k/. He has become a regular occurrence at /pol/. He is so obvious even the nu/pol/ kiddies can spot his ass.

The most useful thing they could do is protect the planet from incoming asteroids, sadly they don't have the technology to do so.

Yeah, Anglos are a fucking cancer though, you might be too much of a newfag to remember brit/pol/, but that place was a hive of Thatcherite neo-con kike lovers, unironically so, there were even regular posters there who openly admitted to being mischlings, this was obviously not all of the posters on brit/pol/, but it wasn't an insignificant margin either.

>they don't have the technology to do so

Yes we do, all you need to do is detonate a nuclear on the surface of the asteroid when it is still at a proper distance, and the course will be shifted enough to prevent impact.

Why is /pol/ lying to themselves?

ODST are just paratroopers, glider troops or air assault out of a different vehicle.

The Space Corps is just a way to unify the satellite operations of the Air Force and Navy and reduce duplication of effort and a unified budget.

d2667e  No.623331

Space corps won't do any actual space combat. They're just going to be the guys here on Earth building, launching, and operating satcom and other space based military assets. Not as exciting as it sounds.
