Let us consider who exactly is surrendering weapons and why. The following list is pulled straight from my ass.
>Criminals, disposing of evidence
>Criminals, turning stolen guns into cash
>Communists, virtue signaling
>Crackheads and Dumb Fucks, turning grandpa's guns into cash because "hurr durr, easy come easy go"
>Profiteers, turning rust buckets and wall hangers into cash above their market value
Remember Cash for Clunkers? It was an Obama administration program where the government gave a flat fee, three to five grand, to people who surrendered their used car. These cars were supposed to have been destroyed, but most of them ended up in the hands of 'moderate rebels' in the middle east.
The end result? The used car market evaporates. All those good, late 80's through 90's, pre computerization cars? Gone. It was guaranteed government money at above market value, why wouldn't you? You had ((dealers)) buying up every car they could just to turn them in to the government. Now Joe Blow Daily Driver has two options. One, drive a modern fly-by-wire shitbox that you can't fix. Two, dig even deeper into '70-'85 'classic car' territory, and pay a premium because they're just hitting the peak of desirability.
