I like Ireland but they have the same problem as us, they put too much towards social spending and it's caused them to go into crazy debt.
Their economy would be self-sufficient if they didn't spend 35% of their entire budget on social security. If they dropped it and put every single Euro of what's leftover to paying off the debt they'd be in the black by 2022. At the current rate it'll take them over 200 years to pay it off.
