Venezuela is expected to default in the next year or two, and the banks will be calling in their debts. Is it possible to swiftly overrun the place and leave or will it become a second Vietnam/Iraq? Will there be an insurgency against Western occupation of the oil industry?

How many times do you have to go through this before you learn America? All a US invasion will do is strengthen communist groups in the region (and today globally) whilst costing America a huge amount of money and men; let them fail, don't do a god damned thing until they ask you for help - then you've got them by the balls without having to fire a single round or send a single body home in a flag covered casket. Honestly I hope we don't go to war with them. I think Venezuela is fucked because of their proximity to Brazil, Mexico, and the Southern USA. The Frenchies might have an interest in them for gold mines since they're already scattered around nearby countries. There'll be a civil war in Venezuela and probably a dictatorship in place before they default on loans, and lefties will bitch up a storm about it.

You be careful with your language young man or I will have you over my knee faster than you can spit. I will admit that my relationship with Ireland got pretty messed up, but considering how disasterous the breakup with France was it could have been a lot worse (Christ, a thousand years on and it's still awkward when we're in the same room). Also, just as a technicality, literally everywhere is rightful British clay. They don't call this Anglo 'eternal' for nothing.
