I take encyclopedias of modern history with me and put some of the things into leaflets that I hand out, most will ignore them but the few who remember what I said will notice when my "predictions" come true and pledge themselves to me for my powers to predict the future. These first initiates will help me spread my word farther and farther and gain more faithful believers and I will set up a religion centered around me as the prophet and messiah, accruing enormous amounts of money and a harem of women. Then I will use my wealth and influence as the largest religion on the planet to make no form of weapon banned or regulated in any country, this may involve having to war with many sovereign nations, but I'm am competent in the numbers of believers around the world that we may exterminate all who oppose me. After that there will no longer be any form of gun control, and I think that will get me pretty famous in the exhibition shooting community.
