Your data is restricted from the years 2011 to 2017, none of which includes any significant gun control legislation I'm aware of, so while interesting, your source is irrelevant in this situation unless you can tie it to a gun "ban" as stated in your opening claim.

That is way too much of a stretch. The firearm is used as an advantage tool, you could achieve the same results with by either using a blunt/sharp object or having (an) accomplice(s).

but your study also doesn't account for where these "self protective behaviors" occurred. If they occurred in Chicago or new york where you can't carry a gun that's going to throw this number off. This statistic also doesn't take into account how many attackers didn't attack someone because they were carrying.

None of the stats prove that they do.

The reason that lower rates of violent crime occur in them is because there's nothing of value to steal from them. The majority of the crimes committed in this report are not terrorist attacks or mass shooting there robberies and break ins you're going to have a lot more robbers holding people up and breaking into homes because there's a much high concentration of value there than at places like schools. I would even go as far as to say that this statistic is skewed as well because if im going to a gun free zone i have to travel through a public place (22.9% of crime occurs here) in order to get there so im not going to bring my gun with me.

how is this a good reason to ban guns just so you have more accurate data? I'd rather have an inalienable right than accurate data.

to top it all off the report is just that a report. It doesn't recommend any solutions to gun violence or draws any conclusions from the data it just presents data. Your conclusions from the data are pretty bad and show your bias.
