Let's have a thread to share /k/ related museums or even weapon factories with tours open to the public.

I've only been to the "Museo de Armas" here in Argentina, and I don't have pics of my own at hand. There is some interesting stuff there, but what's on display never changes.

Since we have a Jap here I'll ask: I'll be visiting the land of the rising sun tentacle porn from January to March. I'll work during week days, but I'll be free to do whatever I want during the weekends. I know Japan isn't the best place for /k/ stuff, but there must be some neat museums to visit given their peculiar military history.

TOKYO AREA

Places you can go on a train and spend a day if you're in Tokyo

Yushukan 遊就館

Located in the infamous Yasukuni Shrine, it houses artefacts and weapons from the Meiji period up until the Second World War. It’s a very good museum with a pretty Anti-ZOG stance, claiming that America pushed Japan into starting the war, and making no mention of the alleged rape of nanking :^). Exhibits include samurai swords and armour, a Zero, the only near-perfect example of a Judy, a Kaiten midget sub, an Ohka rocket, a Type 97 Chi-Ha tank, rifles of the IJA from different eras, and others. They also have English explanations with some of the exhibits so it won’t be entirely moonrunes. I highly recommend you take a trip to the Showa Museum which houses civilian life during the Showa period, which includes both the rise of miliatrism pre-war and the post-war economic boom of Japan. It’s pretty neat seeing the evolution of various appliances and toys during the eras, but that may just be me.

Overall it’s a good day out for 800 yen 7~8 USD. As it’s located within the Yasukuni shrine, visitors should go in with some level of respect. It’s a 5 minute walk from Kudanshita station, and quite close to the Imperial palace. Highly recommend you go here if you’re in search of k related souvenirs.

http://www.yasukuni.or.jp/english/index.html

JGSDF Public Information Centre 陸上自衛隊広報センター

The name says it all; it’s an information recruitment propaganda centre for the Japan Ground Self Defence Forces, the equivalent of an Army in other nations. It houses information about the birth, development, and current state of the JGSDF. It houses several tanks including the Type 74, Type 90 and Type 10 tanks along with some other armoured vehicles, and several helicopters and drones including the UH 1 and AH1 Cobra. They also have a theatre (waste of time), a “shooting simulator (DOS style shit 3d game), and a AH-1 flight simulator (It’s pretty cool, it moves around). You can also try out some of the currently issued equipment and take a photo. There are a few guns (Type 89, MINIMI, Tank mounted 7.62 MG, a MANPAD etc). I recommend you take the Shinbudai tour, as it houses some rare military uniforms from the IJA era. In fact the entire neighbourhood was a former Officer school training gorund and you’ll be able to see quite a lot of JSDF vehicles.

It’s free to enter, and it rightfully is, because the museum is a 20 minute walk from the nearest station and there are no buses going there. It’s located 30~40 minutes away from central Tokyo in the middle of nowhere Wako-Shi station. Highly recommend you take a friend because it can be quite empty during the weekdays. Worth a visit because you can pick up some sweet Jieitai-Anime gril posters and free pamphlets.

Nakata Shoten 中田商店

Located in Ueno, this is about the only place in Tokyo where you can buy cheap milsurp in Japan. The main shop in Ame-Yoko is a tourist trap so don't go there unless you want memcams or Ian's sweater from the EM-2 video, however if you want cheap milsurp ask one of the employees to guide you to the OKACHIMACHI shop, which is only about 3 minutes away. This is their warehouse and they only sell milsurp there. It's extremely disorganised and cramped but you can find some cool stuff that the shop keeper has forgotten about. They import new surplus at the end/start of the year so you're quite lucky. Ueno also has a museum housing another Zero, and a panda at the zoo if you're into pandas.

http://nakatashoten.com/ good luck decoding the moonrunes

They're far from popular; I've been to a shotgun dealer once to talk about getting into target shooting and hunting but the shop was small cramped. Although the shopkeepers were nice, the shop certainly isn't meant to draw in new customers; for nofuns like myself, I trembled a little bit having been surrounded by shotguns on both sides of me at arms length

Most of the other shops in Tokyo are small compared to anything in the west and there are maybe 12 shops in all of Tokyo to serve a population of 13 million people.

tl;dr: no, it's for people who already want guns

That sucks man. come down to Sydney and well sort you out shooting handguns and rifles for fun.

Or become a NSW resident and apply for all the guns you want.

There's the Tank Museum at Bovington (Dorset), a decent collection and their exhibition on Tiger Tanks this year was pretty cool. They've got a fairly extensive collection of tanks and other military vehicles.

tfw already half-australian and lived near parra for a couple of years

tfw went to auburn just to see if we could come out alive

tfw I missed out on the whole Kebab Snack Pack boom

I should have gone to TAFE and taken horticulture instead of coming back to Japan

feels pretty fucking bad man

>Would those stores welcome white devils like myself?

I doubt it, unless you speak Japanese and say you're a writer or something and you want to write something pro-gun.

Depending on the state, evne then here in NSW its okay.

Come to China there are no guns. You wont need them because we will be too busy slaughtering other Chinese with machetes.

Or you could come to America and enjoy burning american freedom (Restrictions apply, see your local state for details. Not responsible for damaged egos).

Maybe from the Yakuza, but you couldn't do it legally. You need to have Jap citizenship to buy a firearm and your firearm has to be purchased through the police. Same for guns purchased outside of Japan; you can only own guns that have been ok'd by the cops.

I remember that there was a fish and hunters party in aus, but are there any moves to remove the gay gun laws? and a repeal of "imitation firearm laws? I like playing airsoft, as gay as it is

Lib-Arts was the only degree I could pursue easily and pass easily in Japan; I doubt that I'll get a job in America lad

However I am taking Comp-Sci courses so that ought to be enough to survive a shoah

Japanese gunsmiths make excellent shotguns, they are quite popular here in australia.

On the topic of Gun laws, Based David "You fuckin cunts are gonna get freedom whether you like it or not" Leytonheljm made the AFP and Turnbull government look like absolute dumbshits as he tried to get an explanation on why airsoft was illegal and caused nationwide humiliation as even aussie MSM discovered what Airsoft is.

David is making leaps and bounds in getting the ball rolling for a lot of things to be changed, people are abandoning the big three as well as the australian Fudd Party the Shooters Fishers and FARMERS party due to people realizing they are only making things worse.

Things are changing Japanon, David is getting things slowly moving.

Probably one of the nicest parts of Buenos Aires, so chances are you were nearby at some point.

A lovely building too, if you enjoy architecture it is quite the sighting.

That's part of the beauty of that place, the guns look used… partly because we never kept factory new rifles because we are retarded/too poor to afford not using every single weapon in conditions of being used, but an used weapon is always prettier than a brand new one (at least on my book).

>>530667

I knew /k/'s jap resident would show up and deliver! Thanks for the thorough information, I'll surely pay a visit to those places on my weekends. Plus, I also wanted to visit temples, so the first one kills two birds with one stone.

I was also set on getting some milsurp, so thanks again.

>>530712

>Also what if i had loadsamunnay and wanted to be a good tourist and buy japanese made guns?

As a general rule of thumb, unless the country is some extreme banana republic with no real laws, you can't just take weapons out as there are some international agreements on the weapon trade between countries. If your country allows for direct import by regular citizens (like your cousins from kiwi island), you need to find an exporter from that country and then get him to do all the paperwork to send it to you (plus meeting the formalities required on your own country, such as technical specs sheet presented in advance, description of the product, etc.).

Not impossible, but not an easy task. I've got the feeling Japs have two possible mindsets when it comes to commercialization and business in general. Either the product is meant for national market and they completely disregard any chance of selling abroad to the point of never even think about it, or they gear it toward international markets and focus on that. It might come down to finding the right manufacturer.

Being jap stuff for a niche market, I'm sure the craftmanship must be outstanding. Now, the price is probably high and you will only find fudd-tier stuff because of their local laws.

>>530843

It is an awesome place indeed. My only complain is that they never add new shit or bring over some special expositions. Almost as if the museum was stuck in time.

I went there twice: The first one I was very young and I didn't know much about guns… or history, because our school system is utter shit run by leftists. I went again a couple of years ago and it was much more enjoyable.

I believe they only added some armors between my first visit and the second one, but I might be wrong.

The best thing on the museum is my platonic raifu (see pic related).

I also did a tour on a very small mini-museum on my visit to the "Regimiento de Infantería Mecanizado 6" in La Pampa. There were some small tanks and AFVs, I got to hold a MAG 10 (M240 for the burgers) and finger fuck a wooden furniture G3 and FAL, shit was orgasm-inducing. That's about all there is to it.

The regiment played a significant role in two major conflicts, an Independence clash against spaniards and Malvinas, so the tour focuses mostly on those two events.
