>Most People in Delta Force, Navy seals are in there 30s or late 40s

>Most army rangers are over 25

Are the memes about the marines only wanting uneducated or immature recruits True?

Can someone explain this to me? The army recruits people in their 30s at my college.

Uneducated? No.

Immature? Maybe. Easier to mold.

It's largely that people who are fresh out of highschool are in far better shape than a 25-40 year old in the US.

Really? When I saw that David Boreanaz was playing a Navy SEAL on CBS's new show I laughed my ass off. Dude is 50.

>It's largely that people who are fresh out of highschool are in far better shape than a 25-40 year old in the US.

That’s what boot camp suppose to be for. Marine basic training is overrated from what I hear. It’s all brainwashing. And little physical activity compared to the army.

b644b3 No.528046

Marines are pack mules more than anything else, that's their job, it's how they're expected to do expeditionary combat. Lifetime of a pack mule is about 5-10 years, after the useful period they need to be taken out to pasture. This is why marine recruits focus on young people and niggers who were bred for the job of pack mule. They'd hire at 17 if they could.

Go into officer school, you're wasted as a basic recruit.

>>528028

Canadian army basic is equivalent in standards to American Ranger school, which is superior to USArmy basic, which is superior to USMC basic. That's why our rangers need no extra training, they literally go right from army basic to ranger duty after 1 week of lectures on new terminology/rules. At least this was the case… fuck… 20 years ago. Wow that makes me feel old.

I think you have too complete basic and have some kind of rank, then you take airborne training, then you get selected based on age, general intelligence, and fitness.

I could be completely fucking wrong here so don't bet your future on imageboard info.

Also don't be a criminal or a chink spy.

The guys that make it into tier one groups like Delta and DEVGRU are in the deep end of the genepool. They have no problem running laps around dudes half their age.

ef1205 No.530952

>>530941

You mean retard strength?

5986f7 No.531038

Special Forces are not all equivalent. Rangers, Delta, SEALs, are primarily door kickers, and it is, generally speaking, a younger man's game. If you are really good and like doing it, you can do it a long time because the service will bend over backwards to keep you. Green Berets are a different story, and they tend to skew a lot older in age, because their job is a lot more mental, involving independent operation for a significant amount of time. I've of dudes who went through Green Beret selection in their 40s, and I personally know a guy in his late 30s who is starting the process now.

Also, you have no idea how hard some of these noncoms can be after 30 years of daily PT. I would put some salty 50 year old sergeant against any number of 18 year old athletes in terms of endurance.

218340 No.531048

>Are the memes about the marines only wanting uneducated or immature recruits True

Yes and no. They want smart people to do their technical jobs, like Intel or some shit doing with tech, but the cool door kicking stuff they want dummies that will follow orders.

>>528028

The Marines are overrated in general, why are they glorified? They're just basic infantry. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't they have the highest crime and lowest education out of all the branches?

7fb960 No.533608

The Suck likes to play fuck fuck games a lot so you're a fucking psycho in combat. Older guys don't adapt well to that. Had a twenty eight year old in my boot camp platoon. He didn't do well. As I recall, most of the "old guys" (24 and up) who joined developed real bad attitudes during their enlistments. These are just guesses, but I think also that if you've been outta school for a bit and had a real job or finished school you quickly realize what a fucking bad choice you made versus what you left behind for whatever reason. At least in their heads.

Most of those people on teams like DEVGRU have been in for 10+ years prior to getting selected. Those guys all came into the military right out of high school or soon after.

I'm guessing it's because of their mantra of "First in, last out" so when your guys are always around the fight they're the most likely to do something really stupid that ends up saving 50 peoples' lives. Plus they're willing to live in the worst conditions of the whole rank and file of the military so they're seen as tougher.

84a3f4 No.534564

I think working in the real world in general makes you realize how fucked up the military is, and it's why so many kids who go straight into the military have so much trouble adjusting after 4-8 years of working for the government, even if they did non-combat roles. I dunno. I'll give you a heads up in 6-9 months when I've enlisted and subsequently finished boot camp.

Army:

>Receiving direct fire, waiting for armor to move in

>10 minutes later

>Alright, the tanks blew up the enemy position, we're moving forward now

Airforce:

>Army is receiving direct fire, this is their location, bomb the fuckers

>20 minutes later

>Alright, the enemy's bombarded to oblivion, army is moving forward, continuing logistic support

Navy:

>Army reporting direct fire X miles from our position, launching artillery/missile/air support

>5-10 minutes later

>Alright, threat's been neutralized, continuing to monitor the situation while they move forward

Marines:

>We're receiving direct fire from an enemy fortification

>Control: Alright, we'll get some logistical support. It'll be maybe 10 minutes so-

>WE'RE ASSAULTING!

>Control: Sit tight and… God damn it.

>WHY ARE THE BULLETS GOING THROUGH US!? MAN DOWN! MAN DOWN!

Saving 50 peoples' lives immediately doesn't matter when being a dumb fuck ensures you can't save any future lives.

The younger you are the more angst you tend to carry with you. Of course the older you get the less testosterone you produce to deal with stressful situations and you bottle all of that up in a younger guy through a mix of being near shitheads and superiors pissing on you all day. On top of having no other outlet than to harness it through exercise you'll get some mean motherfuckers. It must be that x100 for infantry shitheads.

Man, all the former US Army guys I know are just "do work, get er done".

They don't manage their own physical, emotional, or financial needs anywhere near well enough.

It's like in the Punisher where he's just waving the sledgehammer for 12 hours a day for little to no money and everyone else calls him retarded.

0686a7 No.535056

>>531067

Every current or former Marine will never shut up about how badass and tough Marines are, even if all they did was ride a desk. So when you have the organization constantly propagandizing the public for recruitment, plus everyone who's ever gone through boot doing the same, it's permeated into the culture over time. Especially in video games and more recent movies, the clueless creators of them seem to buy all of it and portray Marines as some elite fighting force. Which just perpetuates the cycle.

As an example, in high school I was interested in joining the military, and talking to another guy that was, the dipshit genuinely believed that "every Marine is a heavy gunner". I assume he had fantasies running through his head of running around the desert like rambo with a bunch of guys all carrying a machine gun.

I wouldn't say their untrue. They will take just about any body they can get. I'd say mariners get such a bad rap for all the pride that they exhibit. At least that's what I hated the most when I was in. It would make the most useless people on the (contributing to society wise) hold their head higher than a prince cause they WERE A UNITED STATES MARINE!

But yeah I think that's where most of the bad rap comes from is just all that over flowing pride. Even when I was on the marine side of it. It still managed to make me sick. Because you've got essentially almost high school drop out loosers who do nothing but drink go to strip clubs and go to bars and look for fights and think he's hotter than tom cruise walking down the red carpet.
