I would defeat this bill and then turn around with a non-pozzed bill that opens the registry forever until MGs are removed from the NFA or the NFA is defeated.

The logic is that the BATF could be forced to give those who qualify a tax stamp for a post-86 MG of their choice for trading in bump fire stocks & binary triggers.

Bump fire stocks & fancy triggers cost more than a tax stamp, and since people would be able to get a real MG for trading in their stock that simulates a MG most people would be happy.

Opening the registry would eliminate what makes bump fire stocks economically sound to commercially sell, so we really wouldn't see any future devices.

Once you open the registry then in a few decades MGs will be decriminalized the way suppressors have the HPA or the Share act going up for vote. If the HPA doesn't pass then they try again with another bill.

In 4-8 years at the current rate, we will for sure have suppressors removed from the NFA.

What needs to happen in the meantime is pass the SAGA act which would eliminate any ban on a gun or gun feature that isn't banned on the federal level. Meaning the CA,IL,NJ,and NY AWBs would be nullified overnight and my picture would become a historical curiosity.

The only thing I would do differently with the SAGA act is to include knives in it. Automatic knives would become legally nationwide that way.
