Seeing as spain seems to be gearing up for Civil War 2.0 at the moment maybe even with Germany and Russia as the primary external support, again. Does /k/ have any predictions?

590764 No.521070

This will probably go by without much issue

HOWEVER, I do believe it, along with Brexit are harbingers of the end of the European Union movement. I predict it'll be more of a gradual decay rather than a violent conflict, however. Historians will look back on this day and age as "The Globalization Era" or something along those lines, and will look back at it as a failure of post-modernism. An archaic byproduct of a post-UN world. An artifact of a bygone age and a cautionary tale of which we hope to ever repeat.

Wasn't globalism era the 90s? The time when everyone and their dog got to internet, USSR fell apart, freedoms, flowers and songs everywhere? I would call the 2010-2020s the downfall of social sense.

Weebs become much more relevant, imageboards an asocial people became relevant, complaining on internet suddenly has impact if you do it enough times, and nobody understands who is behind anything.

Completely agree that the EU has started its death spiral, but it's going to be a fair length of time before it's actually dead and it can do a lot of damage in its last few years - especially with the more treasonous, remoaner, elements desperately trying to keep it alive. I am seriously getting concerned about the possibility that Corbyn might be in with a shot at becoming Prime Minister in the coming years.

File: af1bdbe5b1dd18a⋯.jpg (625.34 KB, 3500x2137, 3500:2137, happening-future.jpg)

It's the first step towards european regionalisation of every european countries.

Catalogne don't want to take its independent and become an independent country, they want to be independent in the frame of the european union.

They simply don't want any intermediary between them and bruxelles, they prefer direct domination.

This may be the start of the end. Because it means that Spain will be disintegrated. France will follow etc…

That's just the next step of the new world order, based on a world government. Federalisation of europe through the destruction of Nation State.

Too small to have any strengh, big enough to not be trivial to a continental (european commission) scale.

There may be a lot of reason for this independence, but these reasons must have been engineered, or are simply social engineering. This "We don't have to pay for other spain region" is the most retarded slogan ever.

It's pretty /pol/ tier, all I can say in term of /k/, is that NATO should give weapon to the separatists, and start bombing the population and the capital immediately. Another Spanish "daesh" should emerge and legitimate these bombing.

Well, another Ukraine/Syrian/Balkan etc… episode. Obviously they'll not do that, since it'll shock the westerner. The life of some shit tier country obviously is worth less than an european life.

>Wasn't globalism era the 90s

Globalism pretty much exist since centuries and centuries. You can find maps trying to cut down a global world since a long time.

The french revolution, for example, provoked the slicing of France according to some kind of utra geometrical plan, with the goal of homogenization of it.

It's not recent at all.

>nobody understands who is behind anything

That's why computers and internet is actually the best surveillance and manipulation technology ever. It's easier to manipulate someone who's swimming in a chaos of raw information, than simply give "official" analysis, that obviously will give up the truth (just take the opposite). A lot of fake conspiracy theory emerged to drown all the serious one (it's pretty well know now that Roswell and most of the UFO thing was secret american weapons, and the alien was actually a CIA made up propaganda. The flat earth etc…).

http://www.politico.eu/article/brussels-defends-use-of-proportionate-force-in-catalonia/

Guess again lads, the EUrocrats are backing Madrid, and describing the police beating unarmed citizens to prevent them from voting as 'proportional use of force'.

I'd be surprised if Russia wouldn't be interested in supporting Catalan independence, it'd be a nice steamy shit in NATO's back garden - especially if the new independent Catalonia starts singing Russia's praises.

2671a7 No.521184

Catalonian urbanites are not willing to fight for independence, not even the islamic gommunist ones. They'll cry, the media might report some unrest every once in a while, and Spain will throw them a small concession a couple months from now to shut them up.

Wait, what? The EU is opposing the independence movement and supporting the unionists/establishment position of the government in Madrid.

>"We have shaped our democratic societies based on three principles: democracy, respect for the rule of law and human rights … The three need each other, they cannot exclude each other. If you remove one pillar, then the others will fall too … The regional government of Catalonia has chosen to ignore the law in organizing the referendum of last Sunday,”

<The independence referendum was illegal.

>"Let me be clear: Violence does not solve anything in politics. It is never an answer, never a solution. And it can never be used as a weapon or instrument … None of us want to see violence in our societies … However it is a duty for any government to uphold the law, and this sometimes does require the proportionate use of force.”

<Police brutality against unarmed civilians is justified so long as it is to 'uphold the law'.

>“Freedom of expression is a fundamental right of all European citizens and thus for all Spanish citizens … But one opinion is not more valuable than another opinion only because it is expressed more loudly.”

<You may have won the vote, but we don't care about that. Shut up and let us tell you what's going to happen to you.

These statements, from the EU Commission First Vice President Frans Timmermans do not sound like a support of regionalism/Balkanisation within the EU. What am I missing here?

What does he or the EU gain from this lie then? If they were in support of breaking up Spain and other nations why not prep the ground for that position?

By supporting fragmentation of member states the EU tips the borderline nations withing it (i.e. the majority of countries in the EU, even France is starting to get cold feet) into full Europhobic mode. They need to support Spain to keep their own power intact. Are you new to politics? A politicians first concern is maintaining and expanding their own power and influence - most of them may enjoy being the complete cockwaffle that makes them, but it's not the point for them.

Just because politicians will happily lie when it serves their purpose doesn't mean they can't be honest when that serves their purpose.

>>521199

>These statements, from the EU Commission First Vice President Frans Timmermans do not sound like a support of regionalism/Balkanisation within the EU. What am I missing here?

What most people miss is that the EU is the definitions of "lions led around by donkeys".

Yes the balkanization of Europe, creating euroregions ruled from Brussel, bypassing the Nations "that are the source of all evil" has been on the agenda since day one.

But the same people that have that agenda honestly believe this shit is gonna fly without igniting civil wars everywhere because people are so tolerant and smart now. It's the same people that think that the Euro works (when every empirical studies show it doesn't) and that a federal state is a democratic thing (despite the fact that they know they can't put it to a vote without instant lost at >70%).

They're morons. Actual reeeeeaaaaally dumb people of the worst kind. The kind that believe they're smart.

So when faced to reality, that regionalists have strong secessionist tendencies and are extremists, and that zombie regions pulled out of their ancient tombs VS central govs have a 50/50 chance to end up in a bloodbath (thing that any third grader that had open an european history book could have told them) they did a 180°.

But don't worry they back Spain… but they will keep doing their euro-region thing.

Because like any true moron, they will never EVER admit that the reason why this shit is going down is their policy.

It's the people in Spain and Catalonia that are wrong. Not them.

It's never them.

>>521274

Economically they're just about the only thing keeping Spain in the black. Are you basing that claim on personal experience of the Catalonians? Or on something else?

>>521310

Pretty much anything that helps twist the knife in the EU's gut is a good thing, I think that's the only reason that Brussels is supporting Madrid in this squabble - they know that an independent Catalonia will take about 10 years off their lifespan.

If the US does get involved in a Civil War, it will be an absolute clusterfuck. Think about how much of mess Syria is right now, it will be tenfold. Communists, Anarchists, BLM, Mexicans, Nazis, Aut-right, feds, and anyone else who wants to get involved. Russia and other countries will be supporting fractions, so will the feds.
