I think there is a chance for it to be intentional, since that character is portrayed to be a piece of shit (like almost the entirety of the cast). She's kind of like the female counterpart of the main character, a fuck up that grew accustomed to high society but that has no actual talents beyond writing/acting. The most decent character is the dog dude, even though he's an impulsive dipshit.

That doesn't change the fact that the episode is horrible though. That ending is so terrible that it might as well come with a free Jon Oliver shirt.

I am pretty sure it was intentional, the show it cleverly written and this is inline with its humour and theme.

That ties in with one of the other jokes which runs over ~half the season where the MrPB runs for governor and then drops out after his campaign manager pressures him to side with a bunch of lobbyists. The manager then goes and finds a shallow retarded female celebrity to run for governor who accepts it without question because of how vapid she is.
