I'd say CAD/CAM are fairly accurate terms, and I bought the license after a short test run.
It's more of a tracing type software I feel, mainly due to it's " touch-up " capabilities being limited. In fact from what I can see there isn't a text option available in the actual SewArt program.
I design using stuff like paint.net then copy-paste it over to SewArt and it handles the amount of stitching and all that, but it can certainly trace/stitch anything. I've got a design that's 120k stitches and 30 colors. And hell never been asked but certainly wouldn't object
